One of my favourite places I’ve been to on holiday, Barcelona is such a great city to visit.
Whether you’re just going for a couple of days and nights like I did, or going for a bit longer, you’ll want to know what clothing to pack.
Here’s what clothes I packed, and the outfits which I wore when I was in Barcelona for a couple of days.
Travelling & Airport Outfit
When it comes travelling and my airport outfit, I always keep things casual. I want to be comfortable on the plane but also reasonably stylish, so I go for the easy to wear T Shirt and jeans combination.
Since my flight was during the day, this doubles up as the first day’s outfit too. That makes packing a whole lot easier, since I was wearing the first day’s outfit.
Barcelona Sagrada De Familia Outfit
Petrol Blue T Shirt, Indigo Jeans, Converse Trainers, Ray Ban Sunglasses
One of the first places I visited was the Sagrada De Familia. It was warm, and I wore my petrol blue T Shirt along with a pair of indigo blue denim jeans and my pair of Converse Low Trainers.
Barcelona Outfit For The Day
Deep Blue T Shirt, Indigo Jeans, Sunglasses
During the day time it was easy to walk around in a pair of light jeans with a t-shirt. Despite it being hot, it was still comfortable wearing long denim jeans.
Barcelona Evening Outfit
Black Jeans, Black Armani Jeans T Shirt, Black Shoes
On the second evening I wore a more casual outfit, pairing up an Armani Jeans logo T Shirt with black jeans, and finally a pair of black dress shoes. The all black look is sleek, but the graphic on the tee keeps the outfit casual.
Camp Nou, Barcelona

For my trip to the Barcelona stadium, Camp Nou, I decided on a casual outfit, and this is what I wore.
My red New Era cap was a good option, Barcelona is very hot, and it was sunny.
Sightseeing Outfit – Casual Clothing
Dip Dye T Shirt, Chino Shorts, Socks, Black Converse All Star Low Trainers
When sightseeing in Barcelona in the summer it’s good to keep cool, and casual clothing is the way to go. When I walked to see the Torre Agbar, I wore chino shorts with a dip dye T Shirt, and a pair of Converse.
Barcelona La Rambla & Placa De Catalunya Outfit
Casual T Shirt, Blue Chino Shorts, Converse Trainers
When exploring around the city, I went to La Rambla and down towards Placa De Catalunya. This is the main tourist area in Barcelona.
I wore casual clothing, including a plain t-shirt as well as blue chino shorts.
La Rambla Evening Outfit
Dark Blue T Shirt, Black Jeans, Black Shoes
On the first evening I wore a more smart casual kind of clothing. A plain good fitting T-shirt in blue, along with some smart jeans, and a pair of dress shoes.
The weather is warm enough to walk around in a T-shirt at night, and cool enough to wear jeans too.
Good Walking Around Footwear
As with all of these types of city breaks, I recommend having good walking around footwear.
I took a pair of smart shoes, and my black Converse All Star Low trainers. I regret taking those, as they are not very comfortable to be walking around in all day.
They are too flat, and I wish I had taken a pair of Nike Air Max, or better walking trainers.
What Is The Dress Code Like In Barcelona?
Since Barcelona is a very touristy city, you can expect it to feel that way in terms of how you dress too.
During the day things are casual, and they are smart casual to casual on an evening too. If you’re going somewhere fancy such as a fancy restaurant or nightclub, then expect to dress up more.
All of the bars I went into were perfectly fine, everyone was fairly casual. Some places may expect you to be a little more dressed, such as more exclusive clubs or higher end establishments.
Men’s Clothing Packing List
For a city break in summer, 3 days and nights, this is what I recommend packing:
- Sports Trainers
- Smart Shoes
- 6x T Shirts
- 1x Button Up Shirt
- 1x Pair Of Chinos/Jeans/Tailored Trousers
- 3x Pairs Of Shorts
- Sunglasses
- 6x Underwear (Boxer Shorts & Socks)
This should be more than enough to get you through 3 days and nights covering most situations.
