The Real Shaving Co. Shave Gel & Moistureiser

Real Shaving Co. Review

When it comes to shaving, I think it’s safe to say we all have our very own regimes and how we do things. I certainly do, and it usually involves a couple of steps, from start to finish. The Real Shaving Co. is a British gentlemen’s grooming brand who manufacturer their products in the heart of Somerset, and have been offering superior skincare since 1953. I’m taking a look at a couple of their products. They combine modern formulations with decades of experience in skincare expertise, focusing on both normal and sensitive skin. Their products are free from parabens, microbeads, SLS and SLES which is increasingly important these days.

They have a three step system for their shaving; First up is prepare, second is shave and third is maintain. The three products for this are a face wash, shave cream and lastly a moisturiser. I have to admit that in my shaving regime I rarely use step one, because I prefer using a face scrub when I am not shaving, so my face is more smooth. However step two is pretty obviously required, and I always emphasise how important the last step is, I have often preached about post shave balm.

The shave gel works well, has a really pleasant scent and I feel like I can get a good shave using this. My razor glides through pretty easily, and it’s a good shave overall. This comes in at £3.99 for a 125ml bottle.

The moisturiser is the final step, and I usually use a post shave balm at this point. The moisturiser it anti-ageing and contains UVA and UVB filters, with an SPF 15 protecting the skin from sun damage. Once again this has a pleasant scent which is fairly neutral. It’s enriched with cocoa butter which soothes and conditions the skin leaving a matte finish. This comes in at £4.99

Both products and the whole system is available online at The Real Shaving Co. website here, at Boots here, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s.
