Versace Pour Homme EDT Fragrance Review

When it comes to smelling clean and fresh, there’s one fragrance which I reach for. Versace Pour Homme is an eau de toilette that’s such an easy grab when I just want to smell good.

Released in 2008 it’s getting on in age, but how does it stack up right now?

Here’s what you need to know, including what Versace Pour Homme smells like.

What Does Versace Pour Homme Smell Like?

When I first spray Versace Pour Homme I instantly get a fresh and slightly citrus vibe to it. The scent lists neroli and lemon in it’s notes, two notes I’m not a fan of, but I can’t say I get very strong hints of either which is good for me.

There’s some floral and woody tones to this too, with cedar, musk and tonka bean being noticeable to my nose.

The combination of the light woods with light floral and citrus types of notes gives this an overall fresh spicy style, with an overall clean type of smell.

How Strong Is Versace Pour Homme?

I don’t find Versace Pour Homme particularly strong, but not many of these styles of scents are. There’s no need to overspray, it’s going to be smelled around you, but not from too far away.

This of course isn’t a bad thing, making it a good choice of scents to wear when you don’t need to be loud.

How Many Sprays Do I Need?

I think the atomiser for this isn’t too great, which gives out short bursts of fragrance. It’s also quite light, therefore I usually spray more than for many other colognes.

I spray it 3 times on my neck, left right and centre, as well as on each wrist, the nape of my neck and a few sprays on my chest. Overall I usually spray Versace Pour Homme 8 times on my body for full coverage.

Versace Pour Homme Pros And Cons

Pros

  • Great smelling and universally likable scent
  • Not too expensive
  • Fresh clean scent
  • Can be worn every day without fuss

Cons

  • Not the strongest or most powerful
  • Doesn’t have that attractiveness or wow factor

Versace Pour Homme Bottle

Versace Pour Homme Fragrance

I have a 100ml bottle of Versace Pour Homme, and it has lasted me such a long time. I don’t often wear it, largely because of the atomiser which I have to say is poor. It could be my bottle, but when I spray this I only get a small amount out of it, and need a few sprays.

Other bottle sizes are still available, including a 50ml bottle which is a standard size.

The bottle design itself is very sleek and simple. A clear glass bottle with the trademark Medusa logo in silver to the front, with a silver bottle top and neck.

When & Where To Wear Versace Pour Homme Eau De Toilette

For me, Versace Pour Homme makes a great signature scent. It’s versatility and inoffensive nature makes it a good scent to have in your wardrobe for everyday wear.

It can be worn in the office at work, around town, on a beach and basically everywhere.

It works on both a formal and informal level, and although I’d pick this one out for the day, it could still be worn on an evening too.

What Clothes To Wear With Versace Pour Homme

A clean white crisp shirt is the perfect pairing for Versace Pour Homme. That smart casual style works so well with this fragrance, but it’s equally suited to a casual t-shirt or full formal suit too.

Who Is Versace Pour Homme For?

When it comes to describing what kind of guy would wear Versace Pour Homme, as you’ve already read, it’s for everyone. This cologne is so universal it works for all ages groups, from teens to older mature gentlemen.

It has that elegant touch that I’d recommend it more for those 18+ rather than younger teens, where there are better more youthful scents. But if you’re 30 or 40+, it’s a great fresh scent to wear that won’t make you feel too young.

Is Versace Pour Homme Worth It?

You can pick up a 100ml bottle of Versace Pour Homme for around £50 – £60 if you shop around, with smaller bottles being available for around £35.

I think that at these prices it’s definitely worth it if you’re looking for a clean and fresh fragrance.

Verdict

Versace Pour Homme is a fresh slightly spicy fragrance which has a clean cut style to it. I really like that it’s such a fresh smell that is appealing to everyone and is totally inoffensive.

It doesn’t have that wow factor that some scents have, but when you just want to smell good without making a fuss, Versace Pour Homme gets the job done, and does it well.

If you own this one let me know what you think, and as always you can check out more perfume reviews if you’re looking for that new scent to make you smell good.

This can be comparable to something like Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue. If you like that scent or are interested, you can give that a look if you’re thinking of something similar.
