Floris London Discover Set - Testing Mini Floris London Fragrances

I recently discovered that Floris London had a sale on with some fragrances, including the small 10ml bottles.

I always like to try out new fragrances, so I decided to buy a few bottles, and basically created my own discovery set.

The bottles I got were: Edwardian Bouquet, Vert Fougere, Lilly Of The Valley and Soulle Ambar.

Here’s what I think of these fragrances.

My story with Floris London is pretty good. I first got into the fragrance house with Floris Santal, which has become one of my all time favourite fragrances.

From there I got Elite and No. 89, nice scents but not ones which I particularly like.

Bergamotto Di Positano came next and I really like it. A super sweet unisex scent which I’ve been wearing in the summer for a while.

I decided on getting these four fragrances to see what they are all about.

Vert Fougere Eau De Parfum

Floris London Vert Fougere Eau De Parfum

Vert Fougere is green and mossy, but it has quite a strong neroli which starts to come through after the initial spray. I am not a fan of neroli, especially when it’s strong.

Once I am hit with the neroli all the other notes seem to disappear. So I think this one starts off good, but then it’s not something I am into.

Having said that, I know so many people like this citrus-floral type of smell, so would enjoy this.

I’m definitely going to experiment with this one more, and try it more to see if I can smell it better.

Top Notes

  • Galbanum, Grapefruit, Bergamot

Heart Notes

  • Neroli, Lavender, Ginger

Base Notes

  • Cashmere & Cedarwood, Amber, Patchouli, Smoke Accord

Soulle Ámbar Eau De Toilette

Floris London Soulle Ambar

As you may have guessed from the name, Soulle Ámbar has some amber in it.

When I first try this it’s very sweet, and I get strong hints of vanilla. After a few seconds I am hit with some really sweet yellow floral types of notes, and kind of does remind you of a sunny day.

Top Notes

  • Bergamot, Galbanum, Pineapple, Lentisque

Heart Notes

  • Pink Peppercorn, Geranium, Jasmine, Melilot

Base Notes

  • Amber, Vanilla, Musk

I think that Soulle Ambar is more in line with a classic summer women’s fragrance, so could be suited to ladies who like this style of scent.

Edwardian Bouquet Eau De Toilette

Floris London Edwardian Bouquet

With a name like Edwardian Bouquet, I was expecting a feminine and floral type of fragrance, but I was willing to give it a try. That is exactly the kind of smell I got.

I got this kind of rose smell from the opening, it’s a green and floral summer garden type of smell. It’s like you can smell the flowers from the summer in the bottle.

From there I got this kind of fresh-spicy kind of feeling, but all of the florals like rose and hyacinth in this one really shines through.

I would say that this is quite a traditional style of fragrance, and definitely more suited to ladies.

Top Notes

  • Bergamot, Green, Hyacinth, Mandarin

Heart Notes

  • Jasmine, Rose, Ylang Ylang

Base Notes

  • Amber, Musk, Oakmoss, Patchouli, Powdery Notes, Sandalwood

Lily Of The Valley Eau De Toilette

Floris London Lily Of The Valley

Lily Of The Valley is another note which is found in many women’s fragrances. I have a few scents with this note, so was looking forward to giving this a shot.

It’s another scent which is very strong on the florals along with the greens, and I get that traditional women’s smell vibe from this one.

It’s definitely a fresh, floral and green style of scent which is more suited to a ladies perfume.

Top Notes

  • Green, Lemon

Heart Notes

  • Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Rose, Tuberose

Base Notes

  • Musk

Overall Impressions

Out of the 4 fragrances, my two favourites were Vert Fougere and Soulle Ámbar, although I’m not too crazy about any of these four. But it’s always good to experiment and try new fragrances, and that is what getting these 10ml bottles are all about.

I have so many fragrances which smell similar or the same, or are in the same category or style. I would say that Lily Of The Valley, Edwardian Bouquet are nice but not for me, and I’d say are more aimed at a women’s perfume rather than a men’s fragrance.

I think that Soulle Ambar is female buy leaning into the unisex zone, with Vert Fougere being more masculine, but leaning towards a unisex scent.

Check out the rest of my fragrances if you’re looking for something new, or reviews on the best men’s colognes you can get right now.
