In this review I’m taking a closer look at the brand new Extradose, a stronger variant in the Born In Roma collection.
What Does Valentino Born In Roma Uomo Extradose Smell Like?
As soon as I smell Valentino Born In Roma Uomo Extradose I am hit with a burst of orange citrus and spice, giving it an initial citrus-spicy combination of smell.
From there I get a that purple, lavender note which is warm, seductive and inviting. It’s a really pleasant scent, and it does draw you in.
The lavender is very strong, and really does stay throughout the smelling experience, with a softer vetiver slowly coming through.
My overall feeling with this scent is that lavender note, which to my nose is the strongest and longest lasting of the profile.

As you would expect from a Valentino bottle, it has the trademark Valentino rockstud glass design which is now iconic. I have a 50ml bottle, with 100ml bottles also being available.
It’s a dark translucent glass which shows off the red of the fragrance when you hold it up to the light, a rockstud neck to the bottle and plastic top.
The branding to the front is minimal, with the Valentino wording in it’s serif font in pink, on a black band.
The atomiser is good, giving off a nice wide spray of the fragrance.

I see this scent as a smart to smart casual style of scent, so I would wear clothes to match.
In the colder months this can mean smart jeans with a shirt for a smart casual look, or it can easily be worn with a suit or something more formal.

When it comes to the perfect occasion for Born In Roma Uomo Extradose, this is an evening fragrance. That warm and inviting note just says night to me.
It can be worn in a casual and formal setting, it has that versatility. Whether that’s a restaurant, night out with the lads or a work event.

Given it’s warm and inviting subtlety, This one is a little more mature of a scent. I would suggest this is definitely for 21 and over, with the sweet spot being 21 – 40.
It’s more of a modern mature scent with some sophistication, so it’s perfect in that age range. For more youthful or older gentleman scents at the other ends of the scale, there could be better choices.
