I hope you had a good weekend. It feels kind of weird writing this on a Tuesday rather than a Monday, but that’s kind of what I’ve been doing lately…Last weekend feels like it was so far away!
It was freezing cold, Winter is definitely here! When I was wondering what to wear I was thinking about my overcoat, and even a scarf, but I thought that it wouldn’t actually be too cold, and didn’t bother; Although future nights out this Winter, I’ll be wrapping up with more layers!

There’s no real secret that Summer is my favourite season, but when it comes to clothing and dressing, Autumn is right up there with the best time to buy and wear clothing. Why? It’s because it seems like there’s so much more choice to wear, and of course layering helps too.

How was the weekend for you? To kick off this week for a style post, I’ve gone for a seasonal classic which I have loved for years, my cricket jumper! When it comes to men’s fashion, they’ve been in and out over the years, and if you’re a long time reader, you’ll know I’ve featured them in the past few years.
Although cricket is a Summer sport, since these are a pretty heavy knit, they’re more suited to the Spring and Autumn seasons, when the temperatures go down and you start to feel the cold.
Here’s how I styled my jumper.
It’s another week and another film night! This week I watched War Dogs, a film from 2016 which I had seen previews of years ago, then forgot about. I was browsing around Amazon Prime and noticed that it had been added, so I thought I would give it a watch.
It’s based on a true story about two guys who would be arms dealers, eventually getting a deal to work for the pentagon which would be worth $300 million dollars. The guys are in way over their heads, it’s the biggest deal they’ve ever done, and things start to go wrong. It stars Jonah Hill as Efraim Diveroli and Miles Teller as David Packouz, who are two best friends, along with Ana de Armas as Iz, David’s girlfriend, and Bradley Cooper as Henry Girard, an arms dealer.

If you’re a regular reader, then you’ll know that I love wearing white jeans. They’re usually a brilliant item to wear in the Summer, since they’re light, and something different for that season.
But what about Autumn and Winter? Can you wear white jeans in Autumn and Winter?

So I was having a browse around a few days ago and came across this incredible advent calendar…It’s not you usual piece of chocolate a day cardboard kind of thing, it’s the Happy Socks advent calendar, with 24 pairs of socks!
I know it’s crazy to already be talking about advent calendars, it’s only half way through October, there’s 6 weeks or so until December, but when I saw this was already on sale, I had to share it.
As you’ll know from reading the blog, I love socks, and I love Happy Socks, and have so many pair, I couldn’t actually say how many I have, and I’m not going to count them. I can honestly recommend them, apart from the fact that the colours and patterns are so vibrant and cool, the quality is also really good.
Luxury types of calendars have been getting bigger and bigger every year. I’ve seen calendars costing in the hundreds, even some in the thousands for things like high end alcohol, and other high end gifts which you can get in a calendar form.
The tradition remains the same. In this Happy Socks version, you get 24 “doors” which are actually little boxes with red pull tabs, which contain a pair of socks. As with tradition, the boxes are not in numbered order, so you have to look for the correct box for the corresponding day.
This advent calendar of socks costs £149.95, and is available exclusively from John Lewis. It is expensive, but for an innovative, fun and fancy way of working your way up to Christmas Day, this is such a great idea. Christmas is always a time of socks for guys, it’s the one fashion item that probably every man will get in some form, and now you can get them every day in the run up.
When it comes to picking out your footwear for Autumn and Winter, we’ve got a few good options. Two of these are different styles of boots, I am talking about Chukka Boots and Chelsea Boots.
But what are they, should you have both in your wardrobe, and what are the differences any way.

I finally watched season 2 of one of my new favourite TV shows, The Bold Type! It’s on Amazon in the UK, and I came across it last year and thought season 1 was brilliant, so I was happy when a second season was announced, and it was released in the Summer. The World Cup was on, so I was all focused on that, but I finally sat down and watched season 2, and it was just as good as the first.
