Spain 2012 Goalkeeper Shirt – Casillas Spain Shirt

Saturday, 19th November, 2011

Here it is, my newest pride and joy in terms of football shirts, it is the new Spain Goalkeeper shirt for 2011-13, i.e. the one worn in the Euro 2012 competition.

As I have done for a few years now, I bought this direct from Spain, since you cannot get them here in the UK (not that I have ever seen). I could have got this last week, but I held off, because I wanted to wait for the place to get the official printing so I could have it printed, which this is.

Number 1 and Casillas of course πŸ˜‰ Something interesting about the printing…Casillas has “I Casillas” printed (i.e. Iker Casillas) on this shirt, something he has never had before for Spain. I noticed that it was printed this way against England, instead of just “Casillas”. I am unsure as to why this is, and if he will have the “I Casillas” printing on his shirts in the future for Spain, but this one has that. I know some players do have this, e.g. A.Iniesta, and Torres used to have F.Torres; But Casillas has never had this to my knowledge.

Here is the back:

I really like the design. The numbers look plain and boring from a distance, but they are a little bit graphical. The actual shirt itself is a nice design, with the star for the World Champions of course, all these Spain shirts are made primary for the Euro’s, in the neckline it has the “Campeones De Europa” (european champions) wording with the years, and this shirt lacks the world cup winners gold badge the previous shirt had, something which will probably return for the shirt they have during the next world cup.

Here are some close up pics, so you can see all the details.

My Barbour: Chelsea Polar Quilt

Tuesday, 15th November, 2011

Finally bought, and finally on my blog, my Barbour jacket! πŸ˜€

When I went to look at the jackets I was going to go for the Powell jacket in black, it was the one I wanted and liked. Unfortunately they did not have it in a Medium, and after trying on the large and a medium of a couple of other style Barbours, I wanted to get the medium.

The one I went for was the Chelsea Polar Quilt. Like the Powell it has a fleece lining which was one of the things I wanted to go for, this is a jacket I will wear mostly in the winter and want it to be warm as well as stylish, so this was perfect for me. It is really smart, simple and sleek with no big logos or patches, the other thing I was looking for as I will be wearing this as a smart but warm jacket for a night out.

The main difference I could tell from this to the Powell was the outer shell. This one has a more cotton feel rather than a silky polyester feel, but it still feels very nice. It has some extra little touches too, such as the suede collar and cuff detailing, which is a nice finish.

I did not know that Barbour was from South Shields when I was gonna buy one, which makes it even cooler, since I am supporting the North East, where I am from πŸ˜€

The Barbour Chelsea Quilt cost Β£150 and I got it from Fenwicks. Is a Barbour Jacket worth it? Last year everyone was buying a Barbour, it looks like this winter is no different.

Fenwicks Window 2011

It is that time of the year again, Christmas so it means Fenwicks window. There were a few people there today, so I did not get a good pic close up, but here are a few pics for you. I may update it later with more pics. It is a generic christmas theme again this year πŸ™‚

YSL La Nuit De L’Homme – EDT/Aftershave

Thursday, 10th November, 2011

I got YSL La Nuit De L’Homme EDT today, and I absolutely love it! It smells so nice, it could be my favourite Fragrance of this year.

It is really hard to describe smells sometimes, and this is one of those. It is a darker smell, more intense and a little bit woody, but not too much. It is not fruity/citrus, which I am not the biggest fan of, but is not too heavy. I would recommend this to be worn on a night, maybe not as a day scent, because it is a little strong, but it depends on how you like to smell.

I think it is so nice! πŸ˜€

As it is Christmas time of year I got a gift set which was the same price as the bottle, which is 60ml. Included in the gift set is the usual aftershave balm and shower gel.

I originally went to have a smell of the YSL L’Homme Libre, which is also very nice, but more light. I will get that for Christmas, Β and bought this today.

FIFA 12 – The Best FIFA Yet?

Friday, 7th October, 2011

I know there are people who like PES over FIFA, and there is the “PES or FIFA” kind of war and it has been going on ever since ISS was around. I have to say I have almost always been a FIFA man, I did play PES for a bit and do on my 3DS, and I like it, but I also like FIFA, and I like FIFA more than PES, it is just a better game.

So, FIFA 12…It’s really good! FIFA seems to get harder and harder as the years go on, there seems to be more you need to do and think about when you play, and the refinements are really good.

I had my game set up on PRO, and found it really hard. I got beat something like 5-1 off Real Madrid, so I thought I better turn it down a bit to Semi-Pro for a while. So yesterday I had a tough game, then Tweeted “I love FIFA 12 but its hard” and played another game, and this happened…

I was quite impressed with myself

I usually play teams which are “better”, I am usually Newcastle or CSKA Moscow when I play, but since I support Spain I like to play as them from time to time, but still play against good teams. I guess that was just the game of my life because I don’t usually score so many goals

The good thing I like about this game are the challenges. They had them on the PSP version of a FIFA game which I love. This time round not only does it mimic real life, it updates on a regular basis. So the first challenge was to win as Dortmund after 60-odd minutes from being 1-0 down; The challenge I did yesterday was to come back and draw 2-2 with only 3 minutes left (3 minutes in real time) and you start with a penalty. I really love doing the challenges, it gives you a reason to play with a team you may not usually, so you play “more” of the game.

I have always liked this style of game, “pick up and play” if you have a spare 20 minutes, it’s a good style of game for a busy person or someone who doesn’t spend their life playing games.

I loved FIFA 11 and thought it was great, I think this is even better. It is so fluid and it is getting more realistic all the time.

My Entourage T-Shirts

Saturday, 24th September, 2011

I was having a browse around the HBO website because it was the final Entourage recently, and the U.S. store had lots of auction items which were cool, but only available to the U.S. customers which is pretty shit! πŸ™ But, I did find some t-shirts which they do, I never really knew that they did them so it was a nice surprise. I had to order some, and they came today! This is what I got:

Johnny’s Bananas! I saw this and thought I had to get it. Johnny goes bananas! πŸ˜›

Drama is known for many quotes, this one “won” the HBO Facebook competition. I could actually have found a few better quotes, but this one is still good. “I’ve been working steady for the past 12 years. Minus the last three”. haha! πŸ˜€

The show which Johnny Drama “starred” in…Viking Quest! πŸ˜€ Also the show he is ridiculed for being in for most of the first few seasons on Entourage. I still love it! VICTORY!!!!! πŸ˜‰

Its funny that Vince is the star of the show, but all my tees feature Drama, I guess he is subliminally my favourite character although I love them all. He probably gives the most entertainment πŸ˜›

About the t-shirts – I was sort of disappointed, because they are clearly just blanks which have been printed on; They still have the generic label in the neck. Since I am a t-shirt guy I know the brand, and it sort of spoils the authentic-ness of these shirts, they are official HBO Entourage t-shirts, but it looks like anyone could have done them. On the positive side, I know the brand they have used, and I know they are good quality, and by feeling them I know they are too πŸ™‚ They are worth the Β£16 each.

My Fragrances – Gucci vs 212 By Carolina Herrera

Thursday, 1st September, 2011

So two of the brands which I love when it comes to fragrances and EDT’s are Gucci and 212 by Carolina Herrera. I have got a few 212’s and have liked them for a while, and I have some Gucci’s too, which I love probably more than any.

I have 2 prestige Gucci’s the bottles on the left and right. I got theseΒ for Christmas one year, and do not use them much. The smell is very strong, and is an old school musky smell. One is an EDT spray and the other is aftershave lotion. This is what I call “man smell” because it smells like old traditional aftershave. The bottle in the middle is Gucci Envy, which could be my all-time favourite scent. I love it. I got a bottle in 2006, and loved it so much I had to track down another bottle last year and finally did. Its quite hard to come by these days, and is old. I also have Gucci by Gucci, which smells amazing. Very strong and powerful, it is a really good smell. The newest to the collection is Gucci Guilty. This smells a little less powerful than the previous, but is still a nice smell.

Now to the 212. The first to the left is the first one I got, and the best out of the three. It is 212 Sexy Men. Its a strong and powerful smell but quite light and fruity with a little bit of spice. The next is the bottle on the right, simply called 212 Men. This is a more fresh smell, but still smells pretty good. 212 VIP Men is the bottle in the middle, and has a magnetic top just like the previous two. Again this is a nice smell, and is currently the newest in the collection.

Do you own any of these? What do you think?

Lacoste Blue L12.12 – Little And Large

Thursday, 11th August, 2011

I got the latest Lacoste blue EDT a few months back, and then a week or so later I got another bottle for my birthday! It is really nice, out of the three Lacoste L12.12 which came out this year I like this one the best. The others are nice, but I prefer this one. It is a more powerful stronger smell, whereas the white for example is a more fresh smell.

If you are looking for a new scent, give this a try πŸ™‚
