Atmos x Air Max2 Light & Air Max Plus 97 Miami Vice

Featuring:

Atmos x Nike Air Max2 Light & Miami Vice Trainers

So I’ve not featured any Nike Air Max on the blog for quite a while, but in the space of a couple of days, I saw 2 pair which really stood out, and I love them both. The Atmos x Air Max2 Light and the Air Max Plus 97 Miami Vice.

First up I’ll have to talk about the Atmos x Air Max2 Light. They are possibly the most colourful Air Max I’ve seen, and they are one of those designs which you’re either going to really hate or love. I have to say, I do love them!

Nike Air Max 1 Ultra 2.0 All White Trainers

Featuring:

Air Max 1 Ultra 2.0 all white

I finally got some white trainers for Summer!

Yes, I went ahead and got a pair of white trainers! With so many options available I picked out the limited edition Air Max Jewel, bought them, and then cancelled them! 😀

Then I found a pair of Air Max 1 Ultra 2.0 which were in the sales, and thought I better get these quick! Then Nike reduced them further so I ended up paying more than I should have! 😂

My story of white trainers for Summer… I haven’t really had any. I did buy some Adidas Superstar trainers several years ago, and I never really wore them. I still have them, and they look to have become faulty, with the toecap going a creamy-yellow colour, so I don’t really wear them.

I’m going to create a white trainer guide for the blog as I do like white trainers. I was going to buy a pair last Summer but couldn’t decide which pair to get, and ended up getting none.

Now I have taken the plunge and opted for a pair of Air Max, the Air Max 1 Ultra which I really like.

First of all I have to talk about the trainers I didn’t buy. The Air Max 1 Jewel Black Diamond…I think these look so good and I did actually go through and buy them, and after thinking about it, decided to cancel the order.

Why? Well because they’re made of hard leather.

I’ve never tried them, but I think that the hard leather may not be too comfortable, especially in the heat of the Summer, and are undoubtedly heavier than the Ultras.

The second pair of trainers I considered, and may also end up getting as a secondary pair, are a pair of Adidas Stan Smith’s. Yes, I know they’re a similar hard leather, but if I get a pair I’ll only be wearing them now and again, so for that comfort can take a back seat.

So let’s me tell you about the pair I did end up getting, the Air Max 1 Ultra 2.0. They’re light and breathable, bright white and all white, including the Iconic swoosh, which is something I was looking for.

I got a pair of the Ultra Moire trainers a couple of years back and love how light and comfortable they are, so picking out this pair as a white pair was a really easy decision.

The mesh is really lightweight and works well with a textile upper, the fit is quite snug around the sides and the width of the trainers, but I’m used to that from the Ultra Moire.

So I’ve finally joined the white trainer club 😀 I may also get a pair of Adidas Original Stan Smith in the near future too, or another ‘smarter’ pair of white trainers. But for now, I will enjoy these 🙂

When it comes to creating an outfit using these white air max, there’s so many things which can be worn.

A light pair of chinos would work, as would a pair of indigo denim. For the ultimate in contrast, wearing black jeans with these white trainers looks really cool. The black and white are complete contrasts with each other, so both shine when wearing them together.

Let me know what you think of these, or if you have any other recommendations for all white trainers for this season let me know.

England Away Kit For 2017 Unveiled – All Blue

Featuring:

England squad debut 2017 away kit

Nike and England have unveiled the latest away kit for 2017, and will be debuted against Germany on Wednesday 22nd March. The colour of the kit is a navy with varying shades, and I think it could be the best looking away kit for a while.

As with everything Nike these days, it’s a plain sleek style, with the whole kit comprising of matching coloured shorts and socks, with a silver Nike swoosh and light blue star above the classic England three lions badge. The shirt will be available to buy from Nike.com from 22nd March. The kit is being modelled by England players Raheem Sterling, Gary Cahill, Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford.

Nike have released the kit with a launch by Marcus Rashford and an essay for The Players Tribune, which provides an honest look at Marcus’ relationship with the England team and the shirt. You can read the full essay here at The Players Tribune. Rashford talks about his England debut, scoring his goal against Australia, Euro 2016 disappointment and the influence that Wayne Rooney has had throughout his footballing life.

What do you think of the new kit? Check out more pictures below.

Nike Air Max Zero Triple White

Featuring:

Nike Air Max Zero White

Is it safe to buy an all white pair of trainers in the Winter? If you think so, or you’re looking ahead to Summer already, Nike has an answer for you.

The Air Max Zero trainers are really cool, and there’s an all white, triple white pair which look as crisp as the white snow. It’s hard to believe that the style was designed way back in 1985 but only first released two years ago in 2015. Sleek and lightweight with a textile upper, I think these look really great, but probably released a little too early in the year for me.

If you want to get yourself a pair, they’re available now, at £100 at Nike and other shops. I’ve been thinking about an all white, or mostly white pair of trainers for the upcoming Summer, with the Air Max 90 all white and Air Max One all white being options, the Air Max Zero is now another contender for looking at a white trainer.

Nike Air Max Mercurial R9 Inspired By The Original Ronaldo R9

Featuring:

Air Max Mecurial R9 Trainers Released

I used to love Ronaldo, the real Ronaldo, not the Portuguese fella. Back in the 90’s and 00’s he was one of the best players in the world, and is rightly considered one of the best players of all time. He rose to World prominence when he moved from PSV to Bobby Robson’s Barcelona in 1996, despite the big list of stars, Barca did not win the league the season he was there, but did pick up other silverware. At the 1998 World Cup he was billed to be the biggest star, and he was, lighting up the tournament all the way to the final, where we all remember that odd moment that the best player on the planet was on the team sheet, then wasn’t, then was, and we later learned that he suffered from fits. His boots, the Mercurial R9 became infamous footy boots that all the kids wanted, many of the pros today confess to wanting the expensive boots, with most not getting them.

Nike has now released the Air Max Mercurial R9 inspired from the original football boots, which look really good in the black or blue colours. If you love football from the 90’s and prefer a more sporty looking trainer, these should be somewhere near the top of your list.

These trainers have just been released yesterday, and for £110 you can get yourself a pair at a Nike shop or at Nike online.

What do you think of these?

Air Max Day 2016

Featuring:

My Air Max Collection For Air Max Day 2016

Happy Air Max Day!

If you didn’t know, 26th March is Air Max Day. For the past couple of years I have got on board with it, my Air Max Day 2015 and Air Max Day 2014 posts have a lot in them, and for a couple of years I’ve got myself a pair of Air Max for the day. As a kid Nike Air Max were the trainers to have, so most people had them, including myself. I have no idea how many of these trainers I have owned over the years, but I got out of the trend in my early 20’s, and only recently got myself a few pairs, only 2 or 3 years ago.

Since then I’ve gone on and got a few really nice pair, as you can see here. This year I did not bother getting any, because I think I have enough (for now, haha!). I have all the bases covered with my Air Max 1, Air Max 90, Air Max 95 and Air Max 1 Ultra Moire, I really love them all.

Fashion Friday Edit: No.8

mens-fashion-advice-number-8

Happy Fashion Friday to you all 🙂 The weekend is upon us, so if you’re looking for some men’s fashion advice for what to buy this weekend, or pieces to invest in going forward, you should check out this week’s fashion edit.

Calvin Klein Shirt – £70

Nike Air Max 95 Exclusive At JD Sports – £115

ASOS Bomber Jacket 2 Pack – £34

Ted Baker Swanley Socks – 3 Pack – £22

Zara Suede Jacket – £99

Hugo Boss Colasso Coat – £380

Superdry Jacket – £75

Ralph Lauren Trainers – £95

First up is this dark chambray shirt from Calvin Klein. I just love the colour and the washed out look of it. It’s a slim fit, and this combined with the dark colour will keep you looking sleek.

Next is this pair of trainers which are Nike Air Max 95. I really love Air Max 95, they are old school and super comfortable, you can really feel the difference when you’re walking on a cushion of air which covers the key points of the foot. This colourway is really nice, a combinations of different blues creating a striping effect on the backdrop of the white trainers. These are exclusive to JD Sports, with all the legendary elements which has made the Air Max 95 an all time classic from Nike.

What’s better than having one light bomber in your wardrobe? Having two! You’ve probably seen 2 packs of T-Shirts, and 2 packs of other clothing, but a 2-pack in jackets? It’s not something you see every day. ASOS are doing a 2-pack of a bomber jacket which is constructed in light sweatshirt material which is super soft to touch. They come in a grey and black colour, suitable for wearing in mild temperatures with a tee, or wear with a bigger coat when the temperatures dip a bit lower.

Ted Baker do some really nice socks, and this 3-pack of socks is one of them. You don’t have to buy them as a gift for someone else, get them for yourself. They’re made from organic cotton, and at £22 for a 3 pack, they are a good deal.

The Autumn/Winter season is the prime time for a suede jacket, and Zara have a few which are on trend right now. I’ve picked out this one in navy blue. Bomber length with collar detail, zips on the sleeves and a zip-up opening, you should consider this if you’re looking to get into suede jackets this season.

This week has reminded me that Winter is coming, and so you may be on the look out for a winter coat. This is called the Colasso from Hugo Boss, and it looks like it will stand up to the cold very well. With a zip through opening and chunky buttons to the front, the design is smart and minimal, which means you’ll always be looking smart while staying warm too. It’s £380, but it will always be stylish for many winters to come.

If you’re looking for a jacket which will keep you dry and is lighter and more competitively priced, the Arctic Windcheater from Superdry is a worthy contender. For only £75 you get a whole lot of jacket, it’s waterproof and is fleece lined, with a selection of really colourful interiors to suit your personal style.

Last up are some smart trainers which I would say look more like casual shoes, the Odle from Ralph Lauren. They come in either black or dark tan, which is the colour I have selected here. The uppers are made from Nubuck leather, with a rubber sole and leather lining.

I hope you’ve had a great week, and you’ve enjoyed this week’s Fashion Friday. As always you can send me tips on Twitter at @Michael84Blog, you can check out last week’s Fashion Friday here.

All Black And White Men’s Styling With Nudie Jeans, Prada & Air Max

Featuring: ,

michael84-1-september-2015-6

I have been writing this blog for years now, and I rarely shoot photos on locations, which I should really start doing a lot more. I live in Newcastle, it’s an amazing city, it has so many great buildings and cityscapes, there’s plenty of cool backdrops for creating some amazing images, not to mention it’s close by to a couple of beaches too!

I have created this all black and white mono style, which I really love. I love simplicity and minimal, and you can’t get more minimal than the bare essentials of black and white in colour, with a good pair of jeans, plain white tee and leather jacket.

The jeans are premium Selvedge from Nudie Jeans, which I absolutely love. You can feel the quality and the difference as soon as you put a good pair of Nudie Jeans on. These are the Grim Tim fit which is a slim fitting denim which I prefer for a smarter option while keeping the overall look a touch casual. I love dark denim, I think it keeps your outfit looking premium, and black denim is no different. They come with the trademark Selvedge detailing throughout, including at the pockets.

Along with the black jeans I went for my black Selected Homme leather jacket. It’s a black biker style jacket, and light enough to wear in the fair weather we’re having without leaving you hot and bothered, but it will also keep you warm as long as it’s not too cold.

Adding white to the look comes in the form of my white Prada T-Shirt. This is a premium tee, and you can feel it as soon as you put it on. It may look like any old plain white T-shirt, but I think it’s important to feel good with what you’re wearing, and this top does exactly that. To everyone looking it’s a basic T-Shirt, but if you’re wearing it you can feel how premium it is. Understated style is always a winner.

One of my favourite pair of trainers are these black and white Air Max 1 Ultra Moire. As you can tell by how fresh they look I don’t wear these everyday, but they’re perfect for this look.

I am down the Quayside in Newcastle. You can see 2 of our many bridges; The most famous, The Tyne Bridge, and the newest, The Millennium Bridge. Remember to check out more of my street style looks for more men’s fashion inspiration and ideas.

The Evolution Of Visible Air – History Of Nike Air Max

Featuring:

History Of Nike Air Max

My favourite trainers of all time have to be Nike Air Max. I went through a period in my life of not really buying many as I was into smarter trainers or shoes, but they were a big part of my childhood, and are back in my life once again! I got back into them last year, and the last Air Max Day I got these. Since then I have bought another 2 pair, my all black Air Max 90 and my latest pair, Air Max 1 Ultra Moire which I love.

One of the first pair I remember getting (although probably not my first) were a pair of Air Max Classics, and I also had a memorable pair of Air Max Tailwind which were based on the 95 with air at the back, sides and smaller bubbles at the front sides.

Nike have launched this infographic which they are calling The Evolution Of Air. It’s the history of the Air Max and the visible air and shows all the major silhouettes from the shoe giant, from the first Air Max 1 of 1987, favourites such as the Air Max 90 and 95 up to the new Air Max 2015 model with maximum air.

This has come in good time, with Air Max day being next week. Remember to wear your Air Max on 26th March in celebration of Air Max day 🙂

New In – Nike Air Max 1: Ultra Moire

Featuring:

air-max-ultra-moire-1

I couldn’t help myself!

I blogged about the brand new Nike Air Max Ultra Moire last month when they came out, and I fell in love with them. In fact I love them so much that I’ve just got myself a pair! 😛 They were my fashion tip for the month, a great contemporary design from Nike in the Air Max 1 silhouette. They are so nice, sleek, minimal and all round cool stylish trainers from Nike. One of the first designs they’ve dropped this year, it’s going to be hard to find a nicer pair. The black and white in the design compliments the other so well, trainers like Air Max are usually really casual and sporty, but you could almost wear these in a more smart-casual look.

The upper is perforated black, with the lower being white. They are so clean I almost don’t want to wear them in this winter, and save them for the milder months 😛

Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Moire

Featuring:

nike-air-max-ultra-moire-black-white

Nike have got 2015 off to a trendy start with the uber cool Air Max 1 Ultra Moire. The silhouette comprises of a brand new outsole which uses less material than the original, giving it less weight and improved flexibility. It’s synthetic suede upper is laser perforated keeping you light on your feel, the iconic air bubble as well as an exposed heel panel. It’s available in a few different colourways, with this black heather and white, being my favourite.

They’ve just gone on sale yesterday at selected fashion shops and at Nike, priced at £105. If you’re in the market for some cool trainers, there is no better start to 2015 than these.

Nike Air Max 90 – All Black, Super Stylish, Minimal

Featuring:

Nike Air Max 90 Trainers

I needed some dark coloured trainers, so the obvious colour is black, and wanted something super smart, but also really comfortable for walking round in for when I am in Reykjavik, if I actually get there! 🙁 . I love my Air Max 1 which I got earlier this year, I love the colour, but they can get dirty easily, and I want something more neutral and dark.

I am back into Nike Air Max, like I was as a kid, and I love these Air Max 90 trainers. They are so minimal, sleek and unnoticeable! I could probably even wear them on a night out and they’d go pretty unnoticed. I still like my Converse, but if you’ve ever walked a lot in Converse you’ll know they aren’t the greatest trainers for walking long distances for long periods of time. Air Max are so comfortable, and these are really smart and stylish. They seem more durable than the Air Max 95 because of the construction, but are still breathable and are slightly narrower than the 95’s.

If I ever need some smart looking trainers for something low key, I have these beauties 🙂

England World Cup 2014 Shirt – Only £90 a pop

Featuring:

why is the england shirt £90

The new England home and away kits were unveiled today, but the talking point was not the shirts, it was the price. If you opt for the match version of either the white home or red away shirt, it will set you back £90 a piece, which is rather expensive, or is it?

The home kit is a throwback to the 70s, and will see England play in all white, rather than with blue shorts. The away kit is a similar story, with an all red affair.

Why the England shirt is £90

If you know your football kits, you’ll know that Nike, similar to Adidas and others, often sell 2 “versions” (and sometimes even 3 versions) of their football shirts. In the past your general football fan has bought a replica football shirt, and that has been that. However what many don’t know is that a replica shirt is not what a player wears on the pitch, it’s a replica i.e. a copy of the shirt the players wear. For quite some time, Nike and others have offered for sale the match shirt along side the replicas, the match shirt selling for a lot more usually. I cannot speak for the Nike shirts, but Adidas, who previously sold their replicas alongside a techfit match version of the shirt, are completely different. The fit is a more fitting slim cut shirt, the badges and anything previously embroidered on the replicas is printed or made from vinyl, this is what the players wear on the field.

I have previously bought the Spain techfit shirts and official match shirts, which have cost more money, but I have chosen to buy them for added authenticity.

Is it worth it?

You can call this a con, rip-off or clever marketing. The £90 match shirts are marketed at the hardcore fans, for the people who want that little bit extra, and are not for every fan. The stadium shirt (aka the replica which most people would usually buy) is RRP £60, but can be had a little cheaper if you shop around. £90 shirts are not exclusive to Nike and England, Adidas have released their Adizero (match shirt) for it’s nations, including Spain, Germany and Argentina, priced at £90 each. I also believe that the £90 match version is only available in adults sizes, so parents cannot complain about buying it for their kids.

My personal opinion is that I am glad that the option is there for fans to buy a match version of a shirt, along side the traditional replica. The bigger problem is the release of shirts, with many teams (especially clubs) bringing out a new top every year instead of every 2 year.

Mind you, buying an England shirt for the World Cup will work out at £30 per match, or £20/hour

My New Nike Air Max 1 For Air Max Day

Featuring:

my new air max one

I am back on the Air Max horse 😀 Today is Air Max Day, and what better way to celebrate it than getting a brand new pair of Air Max. I am taking it back to the beginning, and got the infamous old school and original style, the Air Max 1.

I love my Converse collection, but I have decided that I would mix things up a bit and a pair of Air Max. I have a pair for running, however they are old and tired and are in really bad condition, I only use them for running and have done for a long time. For the past few years I have bought so many pair of Converse, and before that KSWISS, with the odd pair of Adidas in between. Now I have a fresh pair of Air Max, and I love them.

I love this colour, a nice light smart colour which is not too boring and dull, but not overpowering and bright. They come with the customary and iconic air bubble to the side, a classic design.

What do you think? What are your favourite pair of Air Max?
