Last week I introduced the brand new Lynx Black collection which has just been launched. The collection is all about understated style, and so I have created an outfit for a night out which showcases an understated style, while keeping very smart at the same time.

York For Easter Saturday

Monday, 6th April, 2015

me-york-4-april-2015

I have always fancied going to York for a day/night, we’ve talked about it for a long time but never actually got round to going, and so since it was a Bank Holiday weekend we decided to actually go to York. It’s a cool place, picturesque and plenty going on with shops, bars etc. They’ve got a lot of the bars we have in Newcastle, so we went to places like The Slug And Lettuce, Yates’s, Pitcher & Piano, Revolution and Popworld.

They have a few cool bars which we went in that they don’t have in Newcastle, like Stone Roses bar which was pretty decent, The Graduate which is the same group of bars which owns The Library in Durham, and the coolest bar there which was The Parish. It’s a converted church building which looks like a small church from the outside, but is pretty big once you get in with tables and seating around the outside and a large dance floor in the middle. Since we only spent the day there we got in quite early and so it was just starting to get people in.

I wore: Selected Homme Jacket | Jaeger Shirt | Armani Jeans | Hugo Boss Knit

Air Max Day 2015

Happy Air Max Day!

What a good day it is. Since it’s Air Max Day I had to wear my newest pair of Nike Air Max, my Air Max 1 Ultra Moire. I love these, they are so cool, super lightweight and I just love the minimal but stylish colour.

I wore them with my Gant dip dye sweatshirt, and Cheap Monday black jeans. I also had to put on my Ray Ban aviators πŸ™‚

You should check out the Evolution of visible Air infographic I posted the other day, it’s pretty cool πŸ˜‰ More pics below…

Pool And Drinks – Saturday Night

Sunday, 18th January, 2015

me-17-january-2015

Hey!

So last night we went out and had some drinks and played pool. It was fun, more fun because I won and played well  We went down the Quayside and went to a couple of bars including the Red House which seems to think it’s OK to charge Β£4 for a bottle of Budweizer! Probably the most I’ve ever paid for a bottle, pretty disgraceful. We went to the new Popolo which is down the Quayside now, taking over the building which used to be Jimmyz. It’s a similar bar to what it was in terms of drinks and cocktails, but it’s got more of a “Saturday night” vibe rather than the Friday night style the old bar used to have if you know what I mean; More space, dancing & more poppy music, the music was quite varied but was good πŸ™‚

Then on to Brewdog. It’s a cool space, chilled out, friendly and is actually a nice spot, I am being won over. I only had a Diet Coke…Or at least that’s what I asked for and got Fritz-Kola Zucker Free πŸ˜€ It was quite nice actually.

I wore my new suede jacket, I will be featuring that in a blog post on it’s own soon, I love this jacket πŸ˜‰ That along with my He By Mango cardigan, Armani Jeans and Hawes & Curtis Shirt.

Still Searching For Them Northern Lights!

Happy Friday!

So, you’ll know by all the posts from my blog in the past week I was in Reykjavik recently πŸ˜› One of the main reasons for the trip was to go and see the Northern Lights, however it never happened because the weather was not good enough, and we wouldn’t have been able to see them. Quite ironically, last week it was the perfect time of the year to see them, and you could see them from our country! πŸ˜› Since I live in the North of England, some people did get to see them in some places, so last Friday we decided to go somewhere dark and try our luck.

Once again we saw nothing! πŸ™ But it was quite a laugh and something different to do. It was also a good chance for me to actually try my hand at some night photography. I have never done it before, and bought my Tokina lens for situations like this. I was actually quite surprised at how the pictures turned out, I think they are pretty decent for a first attempt. I got some shots of the moon and stars, the moon was quite orangey and almost looks like a sun set. I was doing long exposures, and even got in on one of my shots to see how it would turn out; Of course it’s not sharp because of the slight movements of myself, but it’s not too bad πŸ˜›

It does go to show how much light pollution there is in Newcastle. I was actually blown away by how many stars you can see out there in the middle of nowhere…I remember seeing them as a kid years ago, we must somehow have a lot more light pollution in the city these days.

Check out the rest of my pics below…

Me Off Out In Newcastle

Hey!

So last night we went out in Newcastle, nothing planned and I did not expect to go out, but did, and it was a really good night πŸ˜‰ We went out late, but went to places like Jalou, Mimo, Union Rooms and a new-ish place called Metropolis, which is above Mimo…I actually heard of it a few months ago, but never really noticed it. It’s a pretty cool place, nice space but since it’s so new and a bit out the way it was not too full, but it’s big enough to be great, I think they need a better selection of drinks though, I was on Amstel beer, it could be the first time I ever had an Amstel! πŸ˜›

Yesterday it was freezing! August? Where did that go!?!? I wore an Armani black T-shirt with my All Saints Denim Jacket and some PRPS jeans.

Going to Jalou means one thing…I get to have my favourite cocktail… A Cookie Monster πŸ˜€ If you read my blog regularly you’ll know what they look like already, but here you go πŸ˜€

Saturday Night Out – Newcastle & Jesmond 21st September

Sunday, 22nd September, 2013

me-21-september-2013

He By Mango Cardigan, DR Denim Shirt, Versace Watch, MR KG Kurt Geiger Shoes, Nudie Jeans

Hello blog πŸ™‚

Shit I am tired! We were out last night, I can’t remember what time I got in, maybe around 2am, but make the mistake of listening to music until 4am! Then made the further mistake of waking up at 9am and not bothering to try to go back to sleep, so I feel shattered!

Last night we went out in Newcastle as we do, and started off in Jesmond and went to Osbournes. It was pretty good. We had intended on going to As You Like It, but the hilarious taxi driver convinced us to go to the town. For the entire journey he was telling us about how The Diamond Strip was the place to be, it was the place with the girls, and we needed 18 year old hot girls  He was an old guy, and was talking constantly about younger women, I tried telling him I like older ones who have something interesting to say about themselves but he was having none of that πŸ˜€ He then told us “When I was 21 my wife was only 5” and we all laughed!! The taxi driver was a legend, as many of them are.

We went to places like Tokyo which is always pretty good, and Perdu. The taxi driver should go into predicting the future or something because we did meet some girls, they were cool, one girl in particular who I met πŸ˜‰ I did not get her number/give her mine, I have such a paranoia about giving my number out  I really should have though. I should be like the other losers, “I’ll add you on Facebook…” haha :p

It was so hot out in Newcastle last night! I knew it would be quite warm beforehand because I checked, so I did not wear a coat but I did wear a shirt and a cardigan…My got I was boiling! The night ended like most do, a Subway sandwich, I have such love for their flatbread now πŸ˜€

Saturday Night 22nd September Out In Newcastle

Sunday, 23rd September, 2012

Gant Shirt, Hugo Boss Knit, PRPS Jeans, MR KG Shoes

Hey blog!

So I was out in Newcastle last night, just for a quiet couple of drinks. We went around the central station area and stayed there for most of the night, but headed to Label for one drink. We went to Milecastle, Centuiron, Rafferty’s, O’Neils and North; There was a band on in O’Neils…Well I say on, they played 1 song in the 40 minutes we were there, and did not sing anything other than the chorus of “Knocking On Heavens Door”. πŸ˜€

We were messing with the jukebox in one bar, so I had to put a couple of songs on; So Sold Crew – 21 Seconds, Robyn – Be Mine and Tinie Tempah – Written In The Stars. Quite a strange mix I knowΒ  I could not help killing myself laughing when So Solid kicked in, what a hilarious moment to hear that song in a bar, and hear it 11 years after it came out too πŸ˜€

It was the opening weekend of “House Of Smith” but I decided we should go to Label instead. We had cocktails, they claim it’s buy one get one free….However when they mix it with a cocktail shaker and glass there is enough drink to fill the one mixing glass…But then they get 2 empty glasses, throw loads of ice into them and Β split up the mixed drink so you aren’t really getting 2 for 1! The measure only looked 35ml of alcohol at best too so definitely not a proper 2 for 1.

I was trying out my camera on my iPhone, it seems to be just as bad in low light as the iPhone 4, not the best but reasonable. Here is a ceiling, guess the bar… πŸ˜‰
