Christmas is upon us, so if you’re looking for presents for any men, or just yourself, I have put together a small list of different gifts you could either ask people to buy for yourself, buy for others, or just buy for yourself! 😀
If you are buying for men it can be tough, or expensive depending on your taste or budget, but actually it’s not too difficult. I have split up this guide into separate parts, so if you’re looking for tech, grooming, food and drink or stocking fillers. If you’re looking for fashion, I have my Winter Coat Guide as well as a Jumper and Knitwear guide specially for the season, men’s aftershave for Christmas guide and who can forget a good old fashioned novelty jumper, check out the best Christmas Jumpers for 2016.

When Midori told me about their Moshi Moshi campaign I was pretty excited! Combining alcoholic cocktails with a Japanese theme sounds pretty sweet to me! For a few years now I have wanted to go to Japan, in particular Tokyo, but there’s a couple of issues; Other than the cost, it’s so far, and I’ve never been on a plane for more than 5 or 6 hours, and a flight to Tokyo…Around 12 hours!
Maybe I will (eventually) get there, but until then, I had some fun with the Moshi Moshi Midori campaign, and making some funky and fresh cocktails, I have to say the taste is so good! Midori has always intrigued me, I know a few people who drink it, with them usually mixing it with lemonade or Coke, but this drink is something you’ll want to definitely try yourself, it is that good.
I hope that you had a great bonfire night last night! When we were kids we always used to do something for bonfire night; It was always bigger than Halloween, and even though we went Halloween-ing when we were kids, bonfire night was a much bigger deal. We had drinks and food like soup, burgers, hotdogs and things like that, with a bonfire and plenty of fireworks of course. We’d either have fireworks at our place or go to families houses and set them off there, and sometimes neighbours had bonfires and we’d all go, it was the usual thing to do. Now it seems we’ve got a bit “Americanized” and Halloween is a bigger deal, as it has been there for a while, and they don’t have Guy Fawkes Night.
I did not really do anything, but saw some fireworks close by, and it was a chance to take a couple of photos, and give firework photography a try. I’ve never done it before, and had not planned on it, so I had to get my camera set up really quickly, and could not really experiment with settings since it was all over pretty quick. I did get a couple of interesting shots which look pretty cool, and I wrote my initial in a sparkler of course
I hope you’ve had a good weekend and enjoyed an extra hour when the clocks went back last night/this morning.
So last night we went out and started at Low Fell for some reason, which is in Gateshead quite out of the way really. I thought it would have been pretty poor, but it was actually pretty good, and it made a change starting the night there. We went to places like The Canon, The Bank and The Beaconsfield. After that we went back to the homeland of Newcastle and went to the Quayside, then ended up in Filthy’s.
I can’t believe it’s October already, 9 months of 2016 have come and gone and before you know it we’ll be planning for Christmas and 2017! Last night we went out for a couple of drinks down the town, and went to a couple of bars including Lola Jeans, Mushroom, Browns, Bacchus and Fitzgeralds. The above image is of Grey Street which a lot of these bars are on, and was voted Britain’s finest street years and years ago which is pretty cool.
There’s the Snow Dogs dotted all over Newcastle for the St. Oswald’s Hospice charity, so I had to get a couple of pics of them 😛 There’s an app on the app store if you want to track them all down, it’s called Great North Snowdogs. Each one is decorated individually and designed by Wild In Art.
Here’s a couple of pics below from last night. I hope you’ve had a great weekend 🙂
Isn’t the saying blue and green should never be seen?
This is one of my favourite casual shirts, it’s from Mango MAN. I wore this with a white tee a couple of weeks ago and I think it’s a really good combination.
Autumn is here but it’s actually been really nice weather which is always odd…Every year we seem to have really great Septembers, but the actual Summer months of August and July always seem underwhelming, right?
I love Autumn fashion and style, as well as Autumn knits I think that layering up some check shirts is a really cool style, and works just as well in early Autumn as it does in Spring. I wore this shirt with a Derek Rose premium white T-shirt, one of my favourite white tees.
I’ve featured this is my basic T-shirt guide which I written about a while ago and collaborated with the best premium basic companies, and this one is definitely one of my favourites. You can’t really see the jeans, but they’re black soft denim from Armani Jeans.
As you all know, I am from Newcastle and think that it’s a pretty cool city as far as the UK goes. Sure, it’s not London, but what city is! I’ve read from other bloggers that having a blog up here, or even anywhere which is outside of London can make you feel a bit on the outside, because everything is so London-centric.
Craft beers have become a big thing over the past several years, in fact I read that starting a microbrewery was one of the biggest start-ups for beer loving entrepreneurs a couple of years ago. However you don’t need to worry about the business behind the ale to enjoy it.
Whether you’re new to Craft Beers or an enthusiast, Morrisons have a great range for you to try out. Morrisons kindly sent some over for me to try, including some of their Summer favourites.
As you’ll have already read, last week we had the best Summer’s day of the year (so far), it was really hot so I decided to go to the beach and walk along the coast. There were lots of guys walking around the promenade and even in the city with their shirts off…We get 1 hot day in Newcastle and England and people definitely overreact! You should definitely keep your shirt on, if you want to take it off save that for when you are at the beach, on the sand or in the water, or if you’re lucky enough to be by a pool.
I love the nautical style for Summer, and I have 3 or 4 different striped tees, they’re all fairly similar. Summer also means lighter bottoms which I like, it gives me a chance to wear some coloured or lighter chinos or jeans. I think when it comes to picking out your clothing for something like this, you need to choose something versatile which can work in both a city situation around a lot of people, and the beach location which will be a lot more relaxed.
I wore this Nautical T-Shirt from ASOS, a pair of light chinos from Mango and my Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Moire which I really love. It’s finished off with my Ran Ban Aviators and my D&G watch.
So we went out last night in Newcastle and headed for the usual places…I say that, but actually we went to a couple of bars which I really like, but have not been to in a while. It was a really busy Saturday night, since it was ladies day at Newcastle Racecourse everyone from there always head into the town to carry on their night, so everywhere was pretty packed. We went to Revolution and Tokyo, two places I love, if you don’t know about them you should definitely read about them in my Newcastle bars pages. Other bars we went to were The Milecastle, The Long Bar, Mimo, and The Mushroom. Revolution is one of the best bars because of the building and layout as you can see in the pic above, and Tokyo has a sweet outdoor terrace, perfect for the Summer.
Sorry for the bad image quality, they are from my phone! 😛 You can also check out a little video of Revolution which I put up on my Snapchat. I wore my Thomas Pink navy shirt with black Nudie Jeans and my suede shoes from Kurt Geiger. It felt weird not wearing a jacket, I’ve never been on a night out without a blazer or jacket since last year, so it was fairly strange 😀
