Nike Chinese New Year Of The Rat Trainers 2020

Nike have released a glimpse of it’s Year of the Rat collection for Chinese New Year 2020, and they look pretty good.

The collection takes inspiration from four events relating to Nike’s history in China: From 1972, 1984, 1996 and 2008, and features eight different men’s footwear silhouettes from Nike and the Jordan brand.

Here’s a closer look at all the trainers from the collection.

The first two pictured above are an Air Max 1 and an Air Force One. I have to say that out of all the whole collection, the Air Max 1 is the stand out piece, and I love it.

Nike Air Max 1 YOR 2020 - Chinese New Year Of The Rat Trainers

It has bold and crazy bright colours, which kind of remind me of my Air Max 2 Light Atmos I got last year. The colours here are however far more vivid. The bold blues, red and yellow is combined with volt yellow, magenta and black. Within the colours are patterns which are striking but tasteful, and really do look good.

The Air Force 1 on the other hand is far more understated, with a tonal embossed pattern, and some colouring to the top to add some contrast.

Jordan XIII And Jordan XXXIV Trainers - YOR 2020 - Chinese New Year Of The Rat Trainers

The Jordan XIII feature a Chinese coin inspired design, with the Jordan XXXIV having an XDR outsole.

KYIRE 6 - YOR 2020 - Chinese New Year Of The Rat Trainers

The KYRIE 6will come in 2 colour ways, one heavily featuring yellow with the other being mostly black.

Air Max 720 & Air Max 90 - YOR 2020 - Chinese New Year Of The Rat Trainers

The Air Max 720 features a pattern above the air unit, with the Air Max 90 coming in clean and featuring the colour white, black, and Chinese favourites gold and red.

As mentioned my favourites from the collection have got to be the Air Max 1. They look incredibly. For their clean cut design, I also like the Air Max 90, with the colours working really well, and are perfect for celebrating the Year Of The Rat in 2020.

All the trainers will be available this month (January), and if you want a pair it’s best to keep your eyes peeled.
