Summer is right around the corner, and the menswear brands have been getting ready for some time, with a lot of brands and labels having their clothing ready to go for Summer! I’ve noticed a few really nice pieces from H&M this year, so here’s my edit from their Summer 2017 Collection part 1;

No doubt they’ll be adding more and more as the season progresses.

First of all H&M do a lot of fast fashion, that means pieces are continually being added all the time. It also means that most things are quite inexpensive, so if you’re looking to add one or two pieces to your wardrobe it’s perfect.

First of all I have to talk about the two linen jackets. If you want to up your Summer game and come in with a smart or smart casual look, the linen blazer or jacket is the way to do that. I got one a while back from Mango, and I love it, it’s always something I bring out in the Summer and is the perfect thing to put on to either smarten up an outfit, or to be stylish and warm on a Summer night.

The first one is a natural light colour, and comes from the H&M Premium line. it’s made from 100% linen and has a two button placket, single back vent and is a slim fit style. If the white is too light and bright for your tastes, they also do it in a really nice dark blue, a true fashion staple colour.

You can pick up either of these for £69.99.

Another option is a light blue chambray jacket, also slim fit but this one is a cotton composition. This one comes in cheaper at £39.99.

For shirts there’s plenty of choice, both in a plain style, the one of the ultimate trends for Summer, a patterned shirt. Can you pull off a patterned shirt, they’re for the brave, but can look really good. H&M have a few in both short sleeve and long sleeve options, starting from a reasonable £9.99.

As with jackets, linen and cotton shirts are great for the warmer weather too. They’ll keep you warm while looking cool, and can be worn buttoned up or with a tee underneath for a bit of Summer layering.

I’ve picked out a few different styles, from a regular fit, long sleeve linen blend in a light grey colour which comes in at £24.99, a dusky pink short sleeve shirt £9.99 and finally a grandad collar shirt for £19.99.

For a more relaxed take on your lower half you may want to try something a bit lighter than jeans, and chinos are a good way to go. H&M have plenty on offer, with my favourites being a pair of slim fit cotton chinos in dark grey for £17.99, along with some regular fit white chinos for £19.99.

Striped T-Shirts are good, my personal favourites are nautical tees which I feature in my Summer essentials, H&M have this black and red white striped tee, made from 100% cotton with raw edges it’s £12.99.

Sweat Shorts are good to wear if you’re just lounging around, with plenty of colour options, you can get some plain and patterned variations of these. The patterned shorts are £12.99 and dusky pink knee length sweat shorts are £17.99. For a more formal or walking around pair of shorts, I think that denim shorts go well in a city scene. The white pair with distressing come in at £19.99.

All of these are available at H&M online and in store now. Let me know what you think and if you’ve already picked up any of these for Summer this season.
