Adidas Firebird Jacket Review by Michael 84

When it comes to jackets, one particular style I love is a track jacket. I’ve owned so many over the years, but the Adidas Firebird Jacket has always passed me by.

Until now.

I finally have an Adidas Firebird Jacket. I got the black Firebird jacket, and this is my review, including how I styled it.

Here’s what you need to know.

What Is The Adidas Firebird Jacket?

The Adidas Firebird Jacket is a track jacket from the Adidas brand, more specifically coming from the Adidas Originals line of the company.

It’s a jacket which has been around for a long time, originally debuting in the 1980s as a garment for track and field athletes.

But since I am a football fan, I usually associate this track jacket as a casuals fashion piece, aka terrace culture.

These days it can be seen as a streetwear piece, and although it’s got the track bottoms which complete the full tracksuit look, it’s often worn separately.

Adidas Firebird Jacket Design

The design is pure Adidas. The three stripes all the way down the long sleeves, a stand up collar, and ribbed elasticated cuffs and hem are key characteristics of what this jacket is.

It’s very similar to the Beckenbauer jacket which came from the 70s. The differences being the Beckenbauer has a higher stand up collar, made from a thicker cotton and has a slimmer fit.

The firebird jacket has a smaller stand up collar, with the classic version I have here being made from 100% polyester which has a smooth and slight sheen to it.

My jacket comes with the Adidas Trefoil logo to the front breast, with the Adidas wording under it.

There’s so many different versions of the Firebird jacket today, with differing fabrics, colours, designs and more. While my jacket has the Adidas wording, some don’t, some have larger badges, with others having different fabrics.

If there’s one thing Firebird jackets have, it’s the choice of colours. There’s tons, from the staples which are red, black and blue with white strips, to more bold colours, and colour coordinated stripes.

I went for a classic, black jacket with white three stripes and detailing. That makes it much easier to wear with everything in my wardrobe.

Adidas Firebird Jacket Fit

I really like the fit of the jacket, but I would say that it’s slightly smaller than some others.

I have a Newcastle United Adidas Originals Track Jacket in the same size, however that has slightly more room than this.

Having said that, it’s very slight difference. I think that the fitting is a regular fit, and I am happy with this fit overall.

Wearing the jacket open obviously gives it more room, but wearing it zipped all the way to the top is perfectly fine.

Is The Adidas Firebird Jacket Worth It?

The Adidas Firebird Jacket is definitely worth it. It’s a classic piece of Adidas sportswear which has stood the test of time.

Track jackets will never go out of fashion when it comes to dressing casually, and have been having an on trend moment in recent years.

When it comes to putting together a casual outfit, the Adidas Firebird jacket is a nice option to have.
