Mango Man: Nautical Time For Spring Summer 2019: Michael 84 Edit

Mens Fashion Collections
Tuesday, 9th April, 2019

Mango Man is a brand I know and love quite well, as you’ll know from reading the blog. I’ve bought quite a lot of stuff from the Spanish brand, and when I saw they had a brand new mini collection, which they call Nautical Time, I had to see what it had to offer.

They say that the clothing is, “Weekend classics for the adventurous soul”. So I’ve taken a look at what they have to offer, and picked out my own edit, with pieces which I think are key to this collection.

First of all I have to speak about the theme, nautical. I love nautical style. If you’re wondering what exactly is nautical style, you just have to think about stripes, mostly horizontal, and colours such as navy and other blues, white and grey. When you’re thinking of the style, it’s smart casual wear, which really are perfect pieces for the weekend, so it ticks that box.

These are my favourite essential pieces from the collection, if you’re on the hunt for this style, or are just looking for clothes for this Spring.

Slim Fit Herringbone Jacket – £89.99

What better place to start than with a smart jacket. This is a slim fit herringbone jacket, fit for anyone who wants to look the part. You don’t even need to be a captain of a ship to wear this smart jacket, it will look perfect on a summer night out with the boys when you need to dress up more smartly.

£89.99

Technical Bomber Jacket – £59.99

At the other end of the scale, this is the perfect casual jacket when you want something more laid back. It’s called a technical jacket, which is a name given to these kinds of jackets with some kind of practicality in mind. This one is made of polyester, so will stand up to the April showers and the rain we tend to get in this country whatever the season. It’s a bomber jacket length, and works well when you want to dress a little more down.

£59.99

Slim Fit Micro Print Shirt – £35.99

When it comes to shirts in the summer, a little bit of pattern never hurt anyone. The smaller the pattern, the more toned down it looks, espeically when it comes to using a good colour palette. This one is a pink shirt with white micro pattern, slim fit and will work this season. Roll up the sleeves for a more chilled out look.

£35.99

Off White Chinos – £29.99

When it comes to your lower half, there’s only one way to do it…light colour chinos. White is cool, but can often look super bright. A great alternative which I have found is off white, like this pair of off-white chinos. They always look crisp, clean and stylish, and can be teamed with wearing something navy on your upper half to pull off a great nautical theme look.

£29.99

Linen Chino Shorts – £35.99

Need a pair of shorts for something more formal, smart or for your holidays? You’ll want a pair of chino shorts. These come in linen, perfect for the Summer when you want to wear shorts on your holiday, or just want to wear a pair while looking effortlessly smart too.

£35.99

Pique Polo Shirt – £29.99

When you want to dress smarter but you don’t want to wear a shirt, the polo shirt is your go to. This one comes in navy and has some nice contrasting stripe detailing in-keeping with the nautical theme.

£29.99

Striped T Shirt – £17.99

Finally, it wouldn’t be a nautical theme without that trademark horizontal striped T-shirt. This one comes in a long sleeve version, with the main body of the tee being white, with the complimenting stripes being navy. A super clean tee which will look great with almost anything.

£17.99

And that is the Michael 84 edit of the Nautical Time collection which you can find at Mango Man. There’s plenty of nice clean pieces you can get to add to your smart casual wears for the Spring and up-coming summer season, whether you’re looking for fresh tees, shorts or a jacket.
