Newcastle United have unveiled their home shirt for the upcoming 2025-26 season, and here’s what it looks like.
Key Takeaways
- Newcastle 2025-26 home shirt will be released 29th May
- Design includes black & white stripes with a pattern design and blue trim
- You can buy it online from the Newcastle club shop & Adidas
- You can buy it in store on release day
- It’s likely to cost £85
- The home goalkeeper shirt is blue and will also be available
- A long sleeve version is also available
Black and white, obviously, and not a shock, but it’s not solid stripes which has been a staple for so many years.
The stripes have detailing in them, and the edges and lines of the stripes have a fine pattern too, giving it a bit of dimension to the stripes.
The shirt is trimmed with blue, on the sleeves, collar, sides and front of the shirt. The collar is round neck, and it uses the traditional Newcastle United crest as well as the Adidas Sportswear logo to the front.
The back of the shirt is plain white as was the previous season, meaning there’s plenty room for any names and numbers to go on the back in any colour.
It will probably be black names and numbers used, the same that was used in the current season.
The nape of the neck at the back says Howay The Lads, last season it was a magpie badge.
The shorts seem to be standard black shorts, the socks are black, and have a magpie detailing.
The home goalkeeper shirt has made an appearance too, and it’s blue, mostly plain but does have a pattern in it.
The 2025-26 Newcastle home shirt goes on sale 29th May. The official price has not been announced, but judging by other shirts, it will be £85.
My Thoughts
I have seen this shirt or a version similar to it over the past few weeks as the rumour mills have been swirling.
At first I didn’t like it, but now I’ve seen official pictures in high resolution and on players, I am liking it more and more.
It’s always dangerous to mess around with the solid black and white stripes, but I think that it’s been done well.
Adding in another colour can also be controversial. This blue has previously been used, as has gold, but I think it’s been done well.
It’s a nice accent colour, and there’s just enough to set the shirt off without it being overbearing.
We have to talk about the goalkeeper shirt, which I love. I am always a fan of keeper shirts, and this one is no different.
This is a more plain blue shirt than previous, but it does have a tonal pattern in the design which looks good.
Will there be a long sleeve version of this Newcastle shirt? Yes, it seems likely. In a video shared, Alexander Isak is briefly seen sporting a long sleeve version.
Arsenal, who also use Adidas as their shirt supplier have their 2025-26 shirts already available, and a long sleeve version is available in their shirts.
If you’re looking for a long sleeve Newcastle United 2025-26 shirt, it looks like you’ll be in luck.
I’m looking forward to checking this out.
As it’s been unveiled it’s unclear if this will be worn for the first time in the final game of the season against Everton, or we’ll have to wait until the summer to see it in action. (Last week Arsenal wore their new shirt, and it used to be somewhat of a tradition in the 90’s to wear the new shirt in the final game of the season).
