Converse Essentials For AW16 – Sweats

Fashion, Mens Fashion Collections
Sunday, 16th October, 2016

If you know me then you’ll know of my love affair which I had with my Converse trainers, the Chuck Taylor All Star lo are my preference, and as you can see, I have a few in my Converse collection.

It’s never been a brand I have associated much with other clothing, but I’ve seen their latest collection, an essentials edit for Autumn 2016, and I have to say, it’s worth looking at. If you’ve read my jumper guide for Autumn but you prefer cotton over wool, these sweats worth checking out for this season.

The first thing I noticed about the essentials was the colours, and one in particular. It’s a dark navy blue which Converse are calling Obsidian, and it looks perfect for this season.

As we know, blues, and navy in particular, is a staple colour, and timeless, so buying something in this hue means that it should never go out of fashion (the colour that is). When you add the colour to something as classic as a sweatshirt, and then give this minimal style, you know you’re on to a winner.

The sweatshirt is made from 100% cotton French Terry, loopback, and has craftsmanship which should ensure the sweatshirt lasts a good while.

I really love the sweatshirt, but there’s other clothing to style with it to create a great casual and laid back look, or just add in one or two of the other items into your wardrobe which will go with your current threads. If you prefer a hooded sweat, there’s hoodies too, and if you are in need of joggers for that much needed chill time, you’re covered too.

Included with the collection is a T-shirt which is made from coveted 100% supima cotton, which is a premium, super soft cotton and you will tell the difference from a standard tee when wearing one made from Supima.

You can pick up the essentials in 5 classic colours; off-white, black, red, grey and obsidian. I have picked out the whole collection in my three favourite colours which are the red, grey and of course that obsidian dark blue which I just love.

The sweatshirts come in at £60, hoodie £70, T-shirt £30 and joggers £55.
