Monday, 1st July, 2019

When I think of bucket hats I think of the 90s, and the iconic figures wearing the bucket hats. I can’t remember owning one although I may have done, but I was never much of a fan. It’s been almost 20 years since the 90s, but this trend which was hot in the mid-late 90s now seems to be back.

It was a trend in the 90s which was adopted from people of all fashion worlds; From the Brit Pop rockers like Liam Gallagher to the world of Hip Hop culture, embraced by people like LL Cool J, and as seen on A listers with style such as Samuel L Jackson with the infamous Kangol bucket hats.

So if you’re looking for a 90’s trend and need some headwear, the bucket hat is the way to go. They’re back, with some great options available.

Here’s the best bucket hats you can buy this summer.

Calvin Klein Twill Bucket Hat – £35

This hat from Calvin Klein comes in black with large distinctive print to most of the hat.

Nike Festival Hat – £30

I love the colours in this bucket hat from Nike. It is from their festival range, so you can team it up with other clothing from the Festival Collection, which includes T Shirts, jackets and bottoms. The white and purple pattern and colour really does give serious 90’s vibes.

Levi’s Bucket Hat – £24.50

A more toned down option, the Levi’s bucket hat comes in a washed denim style, staying true to the brand’s core values.

Adidas Bucket Hat – £22

The classic sportwear brand from Germany, Adidas Originals is of course one of the brands you can turn to when it comes to retro styling. This bucket hat comes in black as well as other colours, and looks classic with the trefoil logo.

Diesel Floral Bucket Hat – £48

If you want something a little bit more distinctive for summer, this floral bucket hat from Diesel is one to consider. The black and colours works well, and comes with a trademark Diesel logo on the hat too.

Polo Sport Bucket Hat By Ralph Lauren – £69

A brand synonymous with 90’s heritage is the Polo Sport arm of Ralph Lauren. This bucket hat comes in a colour panelling detail which really stands out, has the Polo Sport branding along with the trademark flag.

Vintage Supply Tie Dye Reversible Bucket Hat – £22

If you want to start or even continue with your tie dye trend this summer, this Vintage Supply hat is the way to go. Not too expensive and distinctive, it’s also reversible, so you can wear it as a black bucket hat if you want something more toned down.

Kappa Black Bucket Hat – £18

It wouldn’t be a 90’s menswear brand roundup without featuring Kappa. This bucket hat comes with the brand’s logo on the front, and a white stripe around the middle section.

Fila Bucket Hat – Red White & Blue – £22

Another brand which is famed for it’s retro heritage, Fila has some bucket hats on offer this summer, with this red, white and blue option. It comes with the Fila squared logo embroidered in the design, which brings back good memories.

Tommy Hilfiger White Bucket Hat – £35

From the classic Tommy Jeans line, this Tommy Hilfiger bucket hat comes with the logo and word branding, and looks spotless in white, with blue and red colour graphics.

And there you have it, 10 of the best bucket hats you can buy for this summer. Whether you’re going to a festival, you like the trend or it just brings back nostalgic times, it’s something you can consider this season when you’re thinking about your next outfit.

If this isn’t for you, there’s plenty other men’s fashion trends you can take a look at, if you want to stay on top of trends, or try something new.

What do you think of bucket hats? A good comeback or something that should have stayed in the 90s?
