Today Microsoft made a surprise U-turn from it’s decision’s it made about how games would play on the XBOX One. The original plan was that users would need to be signed in to play, which requires users to check in every 24 hours if they went offline. It also meant that games would not be able to be exchanged, borrowed, sold or used games bought. This was met with outrage with gamers, especially when Sony announced their PS4 would be the opposite of this; Allowing the use of the machine offline, no need to be online and freedom to trade games.

However Microsoft has decided to follow suit, stating there will be no limitations of the games you buy on disc, and an internet connection will only be required for the one-time set up when you buy your shiny new XBOX.

As far as I can tell, Kinect still needs to be turned on when you play, something which I am not a fan of.
