Today Microsoft finally announced their next generation console, no it’s not called the XBOX 720 but is named Xbox One, and it looks amazing!

I have just watched the announcement and unveiling and thought it was really good, polished, informative, fluid, straight to the point; I watched the Sony Playstation 4 unveiling and it left most people asking more questions than they would like, it was paced like a snail and all we really saw was a controller.

XBOX did not make the same mistake, seemingly announcing more things, games, how it will work, their new controller, XBOX Smartglass, and of course the actual console itself. It is quite a boxy looking device, and looks quite big, many are already criticising the design of the machine.

But you could not argue with what it’s all about; Entertainment. It is going to integrate your TV, games, videos, Internet, and more. The PS4 seemed to concentrate on how you can “take your game with you” so you can play on your VITA (if you have one) and followed the same type of pitch the Nintendo Wii U has; XBOX flips that, and makes the XBOX One the hub of your home entertainment, it’s all about the big screen.

Add all of this to many exclusives, from getting content first to exclusive games, collabs with huge people in the entertainment business like Stephen Gaghan and Steven Spielberg, as well as much, much more.

It showed off the very impressive looking voice recognition and sensor capabilities, similar to a smart Samsung TV where you can control aspects with your body.

It will have Blu Ray, Skype, USB 3, 8GB RAM, 500GB Hard Drive, and 8-core CPU, but will not be backward compatible with the 360 because this uses 64bit architecture.

We saw games from EA Sports such as FIFA 14, NBA Live 14, Madden and UFC; Forza 5 and many peoples favourite, Call Of Duty.

I have to say I am excited by this console, and if I had to choose 1 I would choose ONE 😉 The Xbox One. I can’t wait for Christmas, I will almost certainly want this!
