World Cup 2010: Who Isnt Going Roundup

Football, Spanish Football
Thursday, 13th May, 2010

World Cup fever is beginning to come! 😀 Most teams have now announced their provisional squads, with suprises in some. Here is a list of players who havent been called up to their provisional squads (not including injuries).

Argentina
Esteban Cambiasso
Javier Zanetti
Fernando Gago
Gabriel Milito
Ever Banega
Juan Riquelme

Brazil
Ronaldinho
Adriano
Pato
Marcelo

France
Samir Nasri
Patrick Vieira
Karim Benzema
Philippe Mexes
Sebastien Frey

Italy
Francesco Totti
Antonio Cassano

England
Owen Hargreaves
Bobby Zamora
Paul Robinson
Carlton Cole

Spain
Bojan
Sergio Canales

Germany
Thomas Hitzlsperger
Christian Gentner
Marcel Schafer
Sascha Riether

Netherlands
Ruud Van Nistelrooy

Please note that these players are the ones not in the provisional squads. The provisional squads will also need to be cut to 23, which means there may be some more suprises for players who dont make the cut. Also note that these players could be included, FIFA allow any nation to call up any players, the provisional lists can change, although a player is not likely to be called up if he isnt in the provisional squad.

Biggest suprise for me is Argentina. Maradona has decided to call up some home-based players over experienced European based ones, such as Esteban Cambiasso and Javier Zanetti. Coloccini also gets a call-up and Barca’s Gabriel Milito does not.
