Trainers On Trend: What’s Caught My Eye Recently

Trainers On Trend Lately

Hey guys!

Are you looking for a new pair of trainers?

There’s been a couple of pairs of trainers which have caught my eye lately for one reason or another, They are worth a mention because there’s been some hype around them. I really like that these are on trend right now, and are real head turners if you’re looking for a pair of kicks which make a statement.

Zara High Top Sock Trainers

Zara High Top Black Sock Sneakers vs Balenciaga Speed Trainers

Recently Zara came out with these trainers, which not only look nice and sleek, but also look rather familiar. You’ll have seen on the blog a while ago I wrote about the Balenciaga Speed trainers which I really liked, and so did many others. Despite them costing a hefty £445 they sold well, and sold out in most places which stocked them. But what if you loved the style but didn’t have over £400 to spend? Zara came up with the answer several weeks ago.

They released what they’re calling the High Top Black Sock Sneakers, which look similar, but these will set you back less than £50. They’re not exactly the same, but they look really nice, although I prefer the original Balenciaga style with white sole.

Air Max 93 Dusty Cactus

Air Max 93 OG Dusty Cactus

The Air Max ’93 was the first time the air sole was not only viable at the sides, but throughout the back of the trainer, spanning 270 degrees. If you were a kid back in the 90’s it was all about the Air Max, and the bigger ‘bubble’ the more exclusive you were. The 93 is back in the beautiful white, black and turquoise colour, aka the Dusty Cactus. These are priced at £110 here at Nike.

Air Max 98 Gundam

Nike continues drawing inspiration from history, and it was 20 years ago when the Air Max ’98 trainers were released, and these bring back memories. The Gundam is here, that’s if you can find any stock anywhere, and will set you back £145. The colours are so iconic, that blue, red, white and black really brings back the memories of the late 90’s, with the air sole being one long compartment which tapers to the front of the shoe, with more visibility of the air at the back of the trainer.

As it’s the 20th anniversary of this trainer we’ll see more of it throughout the year and probably for Air Max Day, with the Tour Yellow version already being available, and Triple White and Gym Red set to come soon.

Those are the three trainers which have caught my eye in the past couple of weeks. What do you think? Would you buy any of these?
