The New Generation Nokia 3310 Has Been Announced

Monday, 27th February, 2017

The brand new Nokia 3310 is coming in four colours!

I previously wrote about the Nokia 3310 rumours, and today Nokia have announced the return of the Nokia 3310, albeit an updated version for 2017.

The phone design is pretty cool, as you can see. It will come in four colours which are red, yellow, blue and silver, and it takes shape just like the original classic 3310, with a more modern design. That means that keys are back! Actual buttons to press which I have always loved. The screen is also a lot bigger, as screens are these days, it’s not a mega 6 inch screen, but a very reasonable 2.4 inch curved colour screen.

Some of the biggest selling points of the original were the battery life and Snake. Well, both are back. The battery life of the new Nokia 3310 is said to be a month, yes an entire month! With talk time of 22 hours, you will easily be able to go a week without charging on regular usage. Snake is back, and that’s had an upgrade too, it’s now in colour, but doesn’t look as good as the original in my opinion.

Other tech specs include a 2MP camera with LED Flash, FM radio & MP3 player with a 3.5mm headphone jack for music, it’s charged via mini-USB, and has 16mb internal storage with a MicroSD slot supporting up to 32GB of memory and has Bluetooth.

It uses the old GSM network which is a 2G network. That means you’ll get Internet, but it’s severely limited in terms of speed. But this device was not built for that. I think it’s a mistake not using 3G, which has reasonable Internet and would open the phone up for more uses.

So this really is a mobile phone for calling and texting, just like back in the day, and it sounds like the old classic ringtone is back in a newer, clearer digital form which does bring back memories.

Nokia 3310 Price

The price is said to be €49, which means it will be probably be around £45-49 when it comes to the UK.

Will I Get One?

I said originally that I would not buy one because I don’t think it would work for life today, and I don’t think I will because of that reason. Having said that, I am a geek, I love tech, I am nostalgic, so you never know!

Are you going to get the new Nokia 3310?
