Summer Essentials With Lyst

Monday, 18th May, 2015

Summer is more or less here, we’ve had a good few days of sunshine and it’s getting hotter, it’s time to start thinking about summer wardrobes and clothing, if you haven’t already started! If you’re on the hunt for the latest fashion and want to see what’s out there, one way to do it is by creating a list of all the fashion you like, and then selecting exactly what you want to buy. Lyst got in touch with me to let me know about their service, and asked me to give it a whirl and feature my own ‘lyst’ right here. You can sign up to create your own Lyst here, but first here’s a little info on them including my lyst.

Lyst is a website and app which is home to a large amount of fashion, from your favourite brands and websites all under one roof. Think of it like Pinterest meeting your favourite shops. It’s straight forward to sign up, and once you have done this you can create your own ‘lysts’ by browsing their site and selecting your favourite clothing. Then it’s as simple as creating a lyst, and adding your favourite items to the lyst. Once you’ve added your picks you can take a look at your lyst and then pick your favourites which you want to buy. It can really help lay out right in front of you the items you like, which is especially useful if you’re buying from multiple shops or brands.

With that said I decided the best thing to create for my first list would be a summer essentials list. There’s plenty of cool items of clothing to consider when you’re thinking of what to get for this summer, so laying it all out and taking a good look really helps narrow down what you want and what you need. Here’s my summer essentials list:

Sunglasses – We have to start with some accessories, and the most needed of them all are sunglasses. I love my Ray Ban Aviators, so even though I already have some I have to put this in the selection because they are a must have item for anyone.

Shorts – So many shorts! Shorts are going to be a big thing this summer. Many men are wearing them more and more in their general daily outfits, and they’re becoming more acceptable to wear, even when you’re not down the beach. For the more dressy and formal occasions I think that chino shorts are a good idea, I’ve found a few pair of Mango Man shorts for such occasions. I am also a fan of sweat shorts for more casual occasions, and selected a few pair from Uniqlo. Lastly for the beach or pool swim shorts are always a good idea, and I’ve picked out some floral printed ones for such an occasion.

Tees & Shirts – It is T-Shirt weather! I like the nautical print from H&M which is navy and off white, a great pattern for summer, and in keeping with summer prints I’ve added a River Island Miami printed graphic tee. Linen is a good idea, so a clean and simple linen T-Shirt and dress shirt should be considered.

Blazers – To keep an outfit smart a blazer is a great choice for the summer. I really like the Ralph Lauren and Zara linen blazers, they’ll give a basic looking outfit some real class. Colour is key for the blazer, and I’ve gone for a light blue and sand colour that are perfect for the summer.
