This Week's Must Have Menswear 31st May 2019

Happy Friday!

Can you believe it’s 1st June tomorrow? Summer is officially only a day away. Since it’s Friday then you know what is coming, it’s this week’s must have menswear, also known as the fashion Friday five.

If you’ve never read this before it’s a weekly feature where I showcase 5 pieces of menswear which has caught my eye in the past week. It can be staple pieces, something brand new, something that stands out, or something relevant in some way. This week I’ve gone for a couple of pieces of clothing which are great additions to any summer wardrobe, along with a T-shirt which will definitely set you apart from everyone else.

With that said, here’s this week’s must have menswear.

Jack Jones Animal Print Stripe T Shirt – £15.99

Jack Jones Animal Print Stripe T Shirt

First up I have to talk about this animal print T-shirt from Jack Jones which I came across. Animal print and guys clothing is usually super striking and should only be worn if you want to make maximum impact. This tee is no different.

The difference in the design is that the animal print is done in stripes with a black base. This looks quite toned down for what it is, but make no mistake, you will stand out. If there’s one season that men can wear outrageous patterns and prints, it’s summer, and since this is under £16 you can get away with only wearing this a handful of times this Summer.

Levi’s Embroidered Logo Block Sweatshirt – £55

Levi's Red White Black Logo Sweatshirt Embroidered SS19

Even though the summer is more or less here, we still get days of rain, and cold nights. If you’re in the market for a sweatshirt and want something branded, I like the look of this Levi’s sweatshirt. It has the large logo and comes in a colour block style which is tastefully done, and has some retro 90’s vibes to it.

Selfridges£55

Patagonia Small Logo Tee – £29.99

Patagonia Pastel Green T-Shirt SS19

If you’re looking for a T-shirt with small branding and want something a little different than the usual high street brands, Patagonia could be a brand to go for. This tee has a small logo to the front which has gotten more and more fashionable, with the large trademark Patagonia logo to the back.

This collection of tees come in a vast array of colours for summer. I’ve picked out this pastel green colour because I like it best, but there’s an array of colours, including the more standard solid colours, as well as more pastels, and some bright pop colours too.

Tommy Hilfiger Geometric Print Swim shorts – £60

Tommy Hilfiger Geometric Print Green Swim Shorts SS19

If you’re off to the beach or a pool in the Med or somewhere else, you better make sure your swimwear game is in top form. These Tommy Hilfiger swim shorts will look the part wherever you are. They come in a geometric print with a base colour of green, and really do look very nice.

The downside is the price, which is kind of expensive for just a pair of shorts, especially if you’re only wearing them on holiday, but you can wear these for walking around in, and come with practical features such as pockets too. If you want one pair of ‘good’ swim shorts and get a few ‘filler’ pairs, these could make a good premium pair.

Tommy Hilfiger£60

Tommy Hilfiger Colour Camo Trunks – £22.99

Colour Camo Tommy Hilfiger Trunks SS19

If you’re looking for a pair of designer boxer shorts or trunks, these from Tommy Hilfiger fit the bill. I prefer the soft, cotton and stretchy style of trunks or boxer-briefs, which is what these are, and will be very comfortable to wear.

When it comes to the colours and patterns, I think for underwear you can really go to town when it comes to such things. You can have a couple of plain and solid colour pairs which are always cool, but wearing something more adventurous is usually a good thing, and who knows, if you get lucky or have a girlfriend, she should appreciate that you’ve gone to the trouble of thinking about your underwear.

Zalando£22.99

And that’s it for this week’s must have menswear. Let me know what you think of these pieces, if you’re going to buy them or how you’d style them. Remember to check out more of my fashion tips and if you’re looking for any advice, just let me know. As always, if you find something you’d like to see featured in a fashion Friday five, please let me know.

Have a great weekend 🙂
