Must Have Menswear 24th May 2019

Happy Friday!

I hope you have been enjoying the sun, I know I have. I spent some time around town in Newcastle, something I don’t do too often since we all shop online now 😉 I thought I better make the most of it, since we’re set for rain for the Bank Holiday…Nothing unusual there then.

Of course Friday means the Fashion Friday Five, and that is this week’s must have menswear. If you’ve never read it before, I take a look at 5 pieces of menswear which has caught my eye this past week. Since we’ve had such good weather, this week’s has a real Summer fashion vibe to it. If you’re looking for some stand out pieces for this season, I’ve picked out some pieces which will definitely get you noticed.

Here’s this week’s must have menswear.

All Saints Leopard Print Shirt – Ocelot – £85

All Saints Leopard Print Shirt Ocelot

If you want to stand out this summer, the Ocelot shirt from All Saints is one way to go about it. The leopard print shirt is loud, bold, and stands out a mile and will ensure you look unique. It can easily be toned down by the art of layering. Wear the shirt open with a white tee under it which will tone it down just a little, while still making a statement.

All Saints£85

Tie Dye Polo Shirt from Ralph Lauren

Ralph Lauren Tie Die Polo Shirt – £149

If you want to join the tie dye trend but want something a little more formal than a tee, a polo shirt is the way to do it. This one from Ralph Lauren comes in while and blue, which gives the polo style a casual edge and will be perfect for the Summer. If you’re a polo kind of guy, this is a great alternative to that traditional solid colour polo you’ll already own.

Norse Projects Neils Colour Block T-Shirt – £75

Norse Projects Nails Colour Block T-Shirt

If you prefer something more casual and refined, the Neils colour block T Shirt from Norse Projects is going to get you there this summer. I love the colour blocking, and with the colours of off-white, grey and blue, it’s going to get you there. The tee comes with a chest pocket which gives it an even more casual edge, and this colour palette will be easy to team with other items in your wardrobe.

MR Porter£75

H&M 3-Pack Slim Fit T Shirts – £17

H&M 3-pack slim fit t shirts ss19

if you’re looking to bolster your summer wardrobe this season with some essential T-shirts, the 3-pack (and also 5-pack) of tees from H&M is a good way of doing that. I love slim fits, I think they’re a much better fit for the vast majority of guys, and that’s what I’ve gone for here.

The 3-pack comes in various colours, including all white or all black if you prefer more staple colours. However I’ve gone for this multi-colour pack. It contains turquoise, navy and a light red, all great colours for this season. If you just want the turquoise, you can pick it up for £7.

Folk Polka Dot Shirt – £110

Folk Polka Dot Short Sleeve Shirt SS19

Last up is another statement shirt which is great for the Summer, from the brand Folk. This short sleeve shirt comes in white with distinctive polka dots which are fairly large in size. As the blue and white colours are fairly neutral, you can wear this shirt buttoned up, or you can layer it with a tee and leave it open. Wear it with some white jeans for a overall summer look, or darken things down with a pair of indigo denim.

And there you have it, this week’s must have menswear. There’s plenty of short sleeve tops you can grab in this week’s edit, whether that’s the classic tee, polo or button up shirt, plenty of clothing for your top half for the coming season.

As always let me know what you think of these pieces, and if you’ve spotted anything which you feel deserves a mention let me know.

Have a great weekend, this one is a little longer, so plenty time to have fun 🙂
