The Must Have Menswear This Week - 1st March 2019

Happy Friday, happy start of the month and happy first day of Spring!

It’s Friday, so that means another Friday Fashion Five…This week’s must have menswear. I’ve got noticed a couple of really nice items this week, including a jackets, two T-shirts, a sweatshirt and a bag.

Let’s get right into it with this week’s must have pieces.

MR P. Red Bomber Jacket Vintage Style

MR P. Rust Blousen Jacket

When I first saw this jacket, I immediately loved it. I’ve had a thing for baseball jackets for so many years, and if you’re a long time reader, you’ll know that. I love the detailing, the bomber style fit, and the general aesthetics of the jacket.

The colour is also striking while still being understated, it’s what they’re calling rust, which looks something in-between red and orange.

This is a similar type of jacket, in a vintage style. This differs with the neckline, this one has a collar, rather than being V-neck like the usual baseball jackets, but I think that adds to it. Complete with welted pockets and a white trim, it really does look the part.

Made from 100% cotton, Get it at Mr Porter for £165

BAPE A Bathing Ape Graduation Ombre Sweatshirt

A Bathing Ape Graduation Blue Ombre Sweatshirt

I’ve always liked ombre and dip dye clothing, and own a couple of tees and a sweatshirt too. It’s good to see that the trend is not dead, and this blue option from A Bathing Ape is brilliant. It’s available in a few different colours, but I’ve picked it out in blue. I love the colour, it looks electric, and there’s just something about light and dark blue hues which go together so well.

It comes with the BAPE slogan printed in a large font to the front, made from cotton and has a tabbed logo on the sleeve. Get it at Selfridges for £280.

Uniqlo Striped Supima Cotton T Shirt

Uniqlo Striped T-Shirt

Getting reading for Spring and Summer, you need to have at least one striped T-shirt in your wardrobe, and this one should be a big contender. I love my nautical stripes, this one comes with larger horizontal stripes, but still looks the part.

The Uniqlo striped T Shirt comes in a couple of colours, but I think that the navy and white option is the best. Made from Supima cotton, I can say first hand how soft Uniqlo Supima cotton T-shirts are, and you need to own at least one. A great bargain at only £12.90, get it at Uniqlo.

H&M Stripe Colour Black T Shirt

H&M Colour Block T Shirt

Along with stripes, there’s something really nice about colour block tops, as long as the colours are right. This one from H&M uses navy, white and grey, and looks the part. It has nice clean lines which I really like.

A nice casual tee for every day wear, you can get it for £9.99 at H&M.

Ted Baker Iced Twill Satchel

Ted Baker Iced Twill Satchel Bag

When it comes to bags, I prefer a satchel or messenger style bag. I think they have the most uses for a man, and are the most versatile for occasions, whether it’s using for work everyday, or a bag to take on holiday.

This Twill satchel from Ted Baker is great if you’re looking for a compact satchel bag you can wear across your body, or has an optional handle. Great for throwing a laptop in for work with a couple of other things, it will work well when you need to carry a few essential items.

The design is understated but distinctive, in the black colour option it has a dark blue stripe down the middle which really sets off the design. This comes in at £149 here at Selfridges.

And that’s your must have menswear this Friday. Let me know what you think, and if you’ve seen any cool fashion which should be included next week, please let me know.
