iPhone8 Rumours – Will You Be Getting One?

will you buy this

Is this the next iPhone? [image via Google Images for commentary purposes]

It’s August and with Apple having a history of releasing new iPhones in September in the past, rumours and discussions around the next iPhone are really starting to get some speed. But, will you get one, and should I?

The latest rumours doing the rounds is that there’ll be a few models released; an iPhone 7S, a 7S Plus and an all new design, an 8. This would be completely different to the cycle of what they’ve done in the past, which has been release a phone and then what most of us call a “half” model a year later; So that’s a 5 followed a year later by a 5S, followed a year later by a 6, and so on. But the 7 was only released last year, so going straight to an 8 which was originally speculated would break the pattern; Now the new rumours of both a 7S and 8 breaks it even further.

What Will Make Me Buy One?

I’ve had an iPhone since the 3G, and done the upgrade path of one every other year, so missed out all the S models and got the latest one, that was until the 7. I bought the 6 and it was great, it’s still great, and there was no reason to upgrade to the 7. Now I am here with the 6, 3 years later, so should I upgrade? What will make me get the updated version?

It’s really hard to say. The camera is already fairly decent, but of course it can be better. The speed and power is perfectly acceptable, but the newer phone will obviously be better. There’s also the annoyance of no headphone jacks on the newer models (presumably none on the next model either). I don’t really want a bigger phone, but it would be good to have a refresh. It’s actually hard to say what Apple’s USP is going to be on this one….Going from the 5 to 6 the screen was bigger and it was more of a jump, so it’s not a real comparison.

Price could also play a part. People are saying that because this is the 10th anniversary of the iPhone there’ll be a special model (which could be the 8, if that’s even the name) which could be really expensive; Some are talking about £1000!

What do you think of the upcoming iPhones, will you buy one and what may sway your decision?

  1. Megan Davis Said,

Nice. I’m looking forward on this phone. I know this is not yet 100% confirmed but it’s a great update.

    Hi Megan,
Yeah, I think a lot of people will be getting this when it finally comes out 🙂
