filmnight-inbetweeners2-1

I got a lot of films lately, which includes The Inbetweeners 2. The film follows on from the first one, which followed on from the series. In the last film all the lads got girlfriends, however other than Simon they’ve all split up with them. Simon and Will are at separate Unis while Neil is working in a bank, and Jay is having a gap year in Australia; He convinces them to visit him the only way he can, lying about his Playboy lifestyle when in fact he was working in the toilets of a club.

The story unfolds from there, and sees Will meet up with a friend, a girl who he was at school with, Simon accidently proposing to his psycho girlfriend back at home via Skype, and the real reason why Jay is in Australia, to see Jane his ex-girlfriend who he thinks is working at a water park.

There are a lot of laughs along the way, and it is a funny film, until around 20 minutes until the end. The ending is really poor, and involves a scene which is way too long where the boys are basically stranded in the outback when their car breaks down. They are dehydrated with seemingly no hope, when all of a sudden they’re saved. Not only are they saved, but Jay’s ex-girlfriend, Jane happens to be one of the people to save them. It’s a really poor ending to the film, and the desert scene goes on for far too long and is boring. MR Gilbert does make an appearance at the back end of the film (I won’t spoil it and tell you why!) which saves the ending a little.

Apart from the ending, it is a good film, and funny in typical Inbetweeners style. If you like the series and first film, you’ll like this.
