Film Night: Legend The Krays Story

Film Night - Legend

Hey guys!

So this time round for film night I watched Legend, which is the story about the notorious gangster brothers of London, Reggie and Ronnie Kray, both played by Tom Hardy. I am not a huge fan of gangster films, I do like a few, and the few I like are pretty much timeless classics, i.e. Goodfellas and Scarface. I pretty much knew nothing about the story of the Krays, other than the obvious, so was looking forward to watching this.

It’s been a film on my radar for quite a while, it’s hardly a new film, it’s been out on DVD/Blu Ray for a long time now, but for one reason or another I’ve never bothered to buy it. Since it’s on Amazon Video I decided that I’d finally sit down and watch it.

It’s a decent enough film, which is set in the 1960’s with Reggie being part of the London underground crime scene and his brother Ronnie locked up in a psychiatric hospital where he gets him out and then they set out to control London.

It’s an interesting film to watch if you’re into crime dramas and gangster films, and tells the story pretty well. It’s never going to live up to the films that I previously mentioned, but it’s not a bad film overall.
