John Wick 2 For Film Night

Hey guys!

I haven’t watched a good action film for a while, so for film night this week I sat down and watched John Wick 2.

I’ve seen the first John Wick, and I thought it was pretty decent. If you have seen that, or seen none of them, it’s basically an action film, with millions of scenes of killing. Basically, it’s 2 hours of John Wick (played by Keanu Reeves) shooting and killing himself through almost every scene.

It’s one of those kind of films that you are either going to like or not. If you didn’t like the first one, then I wouldn’t bother with this, and at the same time, if you enjoyed the first one, you will like this.

The film continues on from the last one, with John Wick looking forward to retirement, he’s forced to do one last job, which turns out not to be one last job. This takes him to Rome, to carry out his usual assassination work, which he does, but then a hit is put out on him. He makes it back to New York, but with a price on his head, put their by the very many who asked him to do one last job.

There’s plenty more killing along the way to the film, I won’t give too much away about what happens. The ending sees John kill a man in the Continental hotel, which is strictly off limits and one of the rules which hitmen are not allowed to break. He’s therefore excommunicated from the hitman underworld, a new price is put on his head, and he has 1 hour to run.

Since I was in Rome last year, I like that this was partly set in Rome, and you do see lots of little bits of the Rome streets and monuments. It’s always cool to see these cities you’ve visited on the TV or in film, I spotted a couple of places which I had been to.

The 3rd film has just came out, and it will be interesting to see where it goes, with John Wick now excommunicated from the Continental hotel and all of the cool underground privileges that brings.

Overall I liked the film, it was good, with plenty action as you’d expect from this making it pretty easy to watch.
