Common Goal For Footballers To Donate 1% Wages By Juan Mata

Common Goal From Juan Mata

Hi guys!

I hope you are having a great weekend so far! The Premier League starts next weekend, and I can hardly wait! Football is back, but with quite a few games over the Summer it doesn’t feel like it’s been much of a wait. I have to share this story which I heard yesterday which I think sounds pretty cool, from Juan Mata and Common Goal.

Common Goal is an organisation with a vision of the football family coming together and donating 1% of their wages to this collective fund. Juan Mata, who won the World Cup with Spain is the first player to join this vision, calling on others to team up. “It takes more than one to make a real impact“. The money will go to football charities around the world.

Imagine if there’s a starting XI of the world’s highest paid footballers who donate 1% of their salary. That would be quite a formidable team. Like-minded footballers have an opportunity to change the world making this commitment.

You can find out more about this on the Common Goal website here. and read more about it on Juan Mata’s website too.
