The humble t-shirt is a simple enough garment, and probably the most worn, versatile and varied piece of clothing which you can wear. There’s a huge number of brands and labels which are inspired from different styles, from band tees to high end fashion, basic plain tops and colour popping designs.
All over / Front Printed t-shirts
A big hit over the summer has been the all over or front printed shirts. These come with the front or sometimes front and back printed with a cool photo style print. These were very popular over the summer, and could still be a welcome edition to your wardrobe for a few more weeks over the autumn. The key with these styles is to not over do them, do not buy 7 or 8 of the same style, even if they are different prints.
All above t-shirts are from River Island, priced at £18 each
Streetwear Labels
Over the past few years we have seen the growth of streetwear labels and brands. From Ice Cream and Billionaire Boys Club we have now seen a real mainstream acceptance to brands such as The Hundreds, Crooks & Castles, Diamond Supply Company and more.
- Diamond Supply Company – £32
- Swallows & Daggers – £24
- Undefeated – £25
- Crooks & Castles – £30
- Stussy – £30
- The Hundreds T-Shirt – £27
Basic t-shirts: They’re not plain and boring
Basic t-shirts are still a staple of any wardrobe. Combine them with shirts, jumpers, knits, cardigans and they transform from a boring plain t-shirt to an essential part of your outfit. Even these can be bought in different styles, with the most popular being the round neck collar (crew neck) or V-Neck. The more fashionable cuts such as the scoop neck are usually only worn as a stand alone piece, and the lower cuts such as a deep scoop or deep V-neck should generally be avoided.
