Spain 2012 – Jacket, Polo Shirt, Captain’s Armband & Gloves

Posted by Michael on Friday 20th January, 2012

I can finally post up my Spain 2012 things! Yeah, more things :P If you read my blog you will know I already have the Spain home shirt, the techfit home shirt, and both the Spain goalkeeper shirts, and now I can post the other things I have.

There was a delay in me posting them because the jacket I originally ordered was a ladies! I order these from Spain, and there was no indication that this was the women’s version, so I had no idea until it came. I had to contact the company (in Spanish) and organise a return, then returned the jacket and bought the correct mens version.

So, here are the cool things which I got…

The official Spain polo shirt. I love this, and it is smart too, I will wear this, but probably not too much.

Official Spain and Adidas gloves. I wore these the other day, they are nice for the winter, but I probably won’t wear these too much.

Spain captain’s armband. This is just for the memorabilia, I doubt I will wear it, or maybe I will with my Spain Goalkeeper shirts, just like Iker ;) You may remember I have the same armband but a Real Madrid one here.

Finally my lovely, lovely jacket. I love this, and it was worth the wait. It actually cost me a LOT, because I basically had to pay the postage twice, so that was actually around €90. I do love it though, and I imagine I will wear it a fair bit for a long time, so it will be worth it. This jacket actually has a more polyester and waterproof feel to it, other than the womans version which I originally received, I think I actually liked that one better, but I couldn’t wear it, it’s for girls ;)

España printing on the back.

Spain Goalkeeper Shirt 2012 – Away Shirt

Posted by Michael on Saturday 31st December, 2011

This is a very rare shirt at the moment, it is the Spain away/alternative goalkeeper shirt for 2012. You may have seen my post with the Spain Casillas 2012 Goalkeeper shirt which I love, but I like this one just as much.

Before I bought it I had not seen it “in the flesh” before, it has not been worn in any Spain game yet, so maybe I have worn it before Casillas has! I could not get it printed, I wish that I could, but I imagine it is because it is so new, I have not even seen the colour which the printing would be, I would imagine white as I think that would look best, but it may be golden yellow or something.

Here it is…

Spain Techfit 2012 Shirt

Posted by Michael on Thursday 15th December, 2011

I got yet another Spain shirt today, but this one is a bit special. It is the Spain authentic shirt, the Techfit version for 2012/13. I already got the home shirt a few weeks back, and now I have this one. I saw it on the Adidas site for £125, but then a few days later it had been removed. I found it elsewhere so decided to buy it, because I knew if I didnt I would regret it later :P

I have had the authentic techfit shirt before, in fact it was in 2010, the Spain 2012 Techfit shirt. That one came in a presentation box, and I still have it, in it’s box. This time round they have put it in an exclusive messenger bag, which is cool :)

The Spain messenger bag.

Spain techfit shirt. Front view. It is quite a long length shirt, and very strechy and fitting.

Spain Swag Bag From Adidas

Posted by Michael on Friday 9th December, 2011

I got some really cool stuff today, Spain related of course :)

Adidas are starting early with their things ready for Euro 2012, and I found some things which are really cool, so I got these:

I got the Adidas Spain tote bag, some España Adidas sleeves, a new Spain scarf and some Spain wristbands. I love all of these :) The bag will come in handy to keep all my Spain stuff tidy; The flags, all of the above, maybe my old shirts etc.

The sleeves are rather long, and it looks like I have broken my arm when I wear them

Spain 2012 Goalkeeper Shirt – Casillas Spain Shirt

Posted by Michael on Saturday 19th November, 2011

Here it is, my newest pride and joy in terms of football shirts, it is the new Spain Goalkeeper shirt for 2011-13, i.e. the one worn in the Euro 2012 competition.

As I have done for a few years now, I bought this direct from Spain, since you cannot get them here in the UK (not that I have ever seen). I could of got this last week, but I held off, because I wanted to wait for the place to get the official printing so I could have it printed, which this is.

Number 1 and Casillas of course ;) Something interesting about the printing…Casillas has “I Casillas” printed (i.e. Iker Casillas) on this shirt, something he has never had before for Spain. I noticed that it was printed this way against England, instead of just “Casillas”. I am unsure as to why this is, and if he will have the “I Casillas” printing on his shirts in the future for Spain, but this one has that. I know some players do have this, e.g. A.Iniesta, and Torres used to have F.Torres; But Casillas has never had this to my knowledge.

Here is the back:

I really like the design. The numbers look plain and boring from a distance, but they are a little bit graphical. The actual shirt itself is a nice design, with the star for the World Champions of course, all these Spain shirts are made primary for the Euro’s, in the neckline it has the “Campeones De Europa” (european champions) wording with the years, and this shirt lacks the world cup winners gold badge the previous shirt had, something which will probably return for the shirt they have during the next world cup.

Here are some close up pics, so you can see all the details.

Spain 2012 Home Shirt – Euro 2012 I Am Ready

Posted by Michael on Saturday 12th November, 2011

The new Spain shirt got announced late last week, and I was going to blog about it, but then they released it quite quickly, I think it has been available to buy since yesterday.

Since I am a massive Spain fan I HAD to get it as quick as possible, and managed to get it today! :D How cool? :P

I like the shirt, it is clean, sleek and simple. I got it so early, so had to pay quite a big price, £50, but that is still cheaper than £65 which Adidas are charging if you order it direct from them.

I will also get the Goalkeeper shirt, as has become tradition since 2008, but I have to order that from Spain and have it shipped from Spain.

What do you think?

Here is the official promo shot…

GK Shirt looks good, I can’t wait to get it, hopefully next week ;)

England vs Spain – Saturday @ Wembley

Posted by Michael on Monday 7th November, 2011

Big Big game on Saturday! It is England vs Spain at Wembley, with a 17:15 kick off. I tried to get tickets a while back, could not find a place which was selling the Spain tickets (in the Spain end) then yesterday I found that you can buy them on the English F.A. site! :( Too late now I think.

The Spain squad is pretty strong, a few names missing but otherwise it is a great squad.

Casillas, Reina, Valdes

Ramos, Arbeloa, Puyol, Pique, Alba, Albiol, Monreal

Xavi, Alonso, Busquets, Cazorla, Martinez, Fabregas, Iniesta, Navas, Silva

Villa, Torres, Llorente, Mata.

And the England Squad

Hart, Carson, Stockdale

G Johnson, Jones, Cahill, Terry, Cole, Baines, Jagielka, Lescott, Walker

Lampard, Rodwell, Downing, Barry, A Johnson, Milner, Parker, Walcott

Bent, Sturridge, Agbonlahor, Zamora, Welbeck

Looks pretty poor in comparison :P

Spain will also play Costa Rica on Tuesday, and England will play Sweden.

Saturday 4th June 2011 – International Weekend

Posted by Michael on Saturday 4th June, 2011

Hello blog :)

Today its international football day. Soon it is England vs Switzerland, and later tonight its USA vs Spain. How strange, almost a year ago in the world cup it was England vs USA and Spain vs Switzerland…Its been reversed! :p So if those results are anything to go by, Switzerland will beat England 1-0 and Spain will draw with USA 1-1.

Its pretty rubbish, there is hardly any TV coverage for the game; It doesnt seem like any Spanish TV channel has it, but its on TV10 in Sweden, Visat Football in Norway, Deima in Bulgaria and Al Jazeera Sport. I have none of those channels :(

Congrats to Liechtenstein, who won only their 4th ever competitive match beating Lithuania 2-0. They are both in the Spain qualifying group.

My Spain away GK Shirt. I remember searching the globe (literally) for this shirt. I finally got it and was over the moon :D Imported from Spain after finding a company who would ship to the UK, and it cost just around €100, but well worth it :D

p.s. I am wearing Boss Bottled Night… I smell so damn good! I love it :D

Spain Decline Copa América 2011 Invite

Posted by Michael on Wednesday 13th April, 2011

I wrote a few days ago that Spain had been invited to the Copa América as a guest team, as Japan have pulled out. Today they confirmed that they have declined the invitation, and put it down to scheduling problems, however they say they would consider invitations in the future.

Its sort of sad, I would of liked to have seen Spain in another tournament this year, it would have made it 4 years of summer football in a row; Euro 2008, Confederations Cup 2009, World Cup 2010, Copa América 2011. It would also mean Spain playing summer football for further years in a row too, with Euro 2012, Confederations cup 2013 and World Cup 2014, we could of seen Spain playing almost every summer for a while in competitive football.

You can read the official statement from RFEF here.

With that being said, would Spain have picked a full strength squad for the Copa América? Argentina and Brazil have both opted out of that in recent tournaments.

In other related news, Spain remain top of the World Rankings, Netherlands 2nd and Brazil moving upto 3rd. Italy regained their top 10 status after 7 months of being outside the top 10 and climb to 9th. France are clinging onto 19th place, and England remain 6th.

Spain To Enter Copa America 2011?

Posted by Michael on Thursday 7th April, 2011

Yes, that is right! Spain have officially been invited to take part in Copa America this year, and if they accepted, would make them the first European team to participate in Copa America.

Vicente Del Bosque has said he is open to the idea, in which Spain would take Japan’s place as an invitee should they withdraw because of the earthquake/tsunami which hit Japan last month.

I am undecided if I would be happy with Spain going. It would be good, because its a football tournament I would be interested in watching in the Summer, since we have none this year. It would bring the appeal back to the tournament for all of Europe, in recent times I havent bothered to watch, because all the squads are rubbish, hardly any European based players are picked for Brazil or Argentina. That could also mean that the stars of Spain dont get picked either.

So, I dont know if this will be a good idea for Spain to go.

The decision will be made on 14th April.
