Last Night In Newcastle – St Paddy’s Day 2012

Posted by Michael on Sunday 18th March, 2012

Hello blog!

Wow I have not posted all day. I was out in Newcastle last night, and it was a pretty good night. We went to a few different places that we don’t usually go to, to mix it up….Some of the places are not my scene but I like to go to different places because I get bored of the same old stuff. We went to Town Wall, Mimo, Jalou, Baby Lynch, Cosey Joes, Fleet Street, The Lodge and Ground Floor. Quite a few places! LOL!!  Cosey Joes and Fleet Street are not really my thing, but they were alright I suppose :P Newcastle was packed because of St Paddy’s Day, so many people out, plenty wearing hats and green and things like that. O’Neils actually had a massive queue outside, something you’d NEVER normally see!

We were into Mimo and it absolutely STUNK! What is it with some of these bars that smell? There are a few which do, I could barely drink my drink it was so bad. I don’t understand why they don’t do something about the smell, it has put me off from going.

They had a sign which was already defaced, I took a pic for my Instagram…

We went to Jalou which used to be Destination, now it has a more “up market” feel to it, well apart from the alcohol. I asked for a Corona he said they don’t have that they have Desperado. I asked for a Budweiser he said we don’t have that we have Budvar. I got bored of asking so I had a vanilla vodka and Coke, which cost £6.40! Quite expensive. It may of been a double, the guy said something and I didn’t hear and just said “yeah” so maybe it was  The pints were £4 and normal vodka and Coke over £5. I don’t really understand the places which try to be upmarket and have high prices, but sell rubbish/cheap vodka and bottles of beer. £6.40 is fine for a double of good brand vodka, like Absolut, but not generic cheap vodka.

Ended the night in Ground Floor, it was getting late in the night and it was only across the road from where we were, and I was so tired had to go home, via Subway and a turkey Sub of course ;)

Last Night Out In Newcastle (10th February 2012)

Posted by Michael on Saturday 11th February, 2012

Hello blog :)

So last night I went out in Newcastle. I said I probably wasn’t going to, and could not really be bothered, but I did in the end go out :P It was a pretty standard night, we went to Milecastle, The Long Bar, Mimo, Baby Lynch, Empress, and The Ground Floor. The Ground Floor (Attic) has just re-opened, and we were about the only people in the place! :D We would normally of not bothered staying, but it was only a Friday night and not a big night out. On the plus side they were doing 3 Blu WKDs for only £5, so I got some :D

I was of course on my drink of choice, Vanilla vodka and Coke ;)

Here are some pics from last night.

Newcastle Bars – Is This What It Has Come To?

Posted by Michael on Saturday 14th January, 2012

Hey blog,

So yesterday we went out in Newcastle; Friday night, in Newcastle, go to bars and it’s a good night. It is January, and the middle of the month, and a Friday (as opposed to a Saturday night) and over the past few years the bars have got quieter on a Friday night in the middle of the month. Last night the “trendy” bars were dead! We went to Baby Lynch at around 9pm and had the entire bar to ourselves. When we left at around 9:30 there were only another 2 groups of people in there. We then went to Ohso, and there was us and 1 other group! By the time we left there around 10pm  were 4 or 5 other groups of people, so still dead. It looked like the same story for Perdu, we walked past (no queue) and I had a quick look in and it looked pretty empty too. The Diamond Strip bars were all quiet, apart from Revolution which looked quite busy, but that always is.
It is strange to see “the cool bars” being so empty, but walking past places like The Bee Hive being really full, we went to Popolo, Baccus and Hoochie Coochie too which were as busy as they usually are on a Friday night. It is sort of sad to see the bars being so quiet, it’s really weird that you can go 1 week and be the only one in the bar and go back the next and have to queue to get in. Ohso was actually cool when it was quite empty, DJ playing good music and in a nice warm bar with more or less nobody else, it was like my own exclusive place :D

This is what I wore last night:

  • Barbour Jacket
  • Gant Knit
  • Jaeger Shirt
  • True Religion Jeans

3 layers last night, it was freezing! Literally, it was -2. I remember in my youth years ago I would go out with only a short sleeve shirt on, those were the days ;)

Weekend Part 2 – Saturday Night, Newcastle

Posted by Michael on Sunday 8th January, 2012

Hello blog!

So last night we went out again, 2 nights running in Newcastle drinking alcohol, it was pure vintage  I did not feel too bad from the Friday night, and was fine last night too…Doing 2 nights in a row is not something I do too often, and not for a long time anyway; It seems crazy to think that years ago I used to do it a fair bit, and when I was in Mallorca I was out more or less every night for the entire summer :D Those nights seem so far away now :P

Here is what I wore:

  • Gant knit
  • Jaeger shirt
  • Prada Jeans
  • Versace Watch

So last night we went to a few different bars from Friday, drank in a different area, we went to the central station area or if you are “down with the kids” the Diamond strip, and most the bars around there were quiet. We went to Milecastle, Revolution, Baby Lynch, Baccus, Babylon and Al Vino…Babylon again, hahaha!? Some of the bar staff were the same as Friday night, they must of been thinking “They’re fucking alcoholics!” All in all it was a good night.

Last Night Out In Newcastle & MUST Read Blogs!

Posted by Michael on Saturday 7th January, 2012

Hello blog!

So last night we went out in Newcastle and it was a good night. Went to a few places including Babylon aka the 90s bar and listened to some old skool pop songs which was good :D I drank 2 orange Bacardi Breezers too, only £1.95 each, what a bargain :D It was like being a kid again lol. Went to several other places in and around The Gate; Bannatyne, Beyond, Opera, Players, and Sam Jacks. It was not like a few weeks ago, this night I remember, and I did not update my Twitter with dodgy random tweets :D

What I wore last night:

  • Hugo Boss knit
  • He by Mango Shirt
  • Dolce And Gabbana Jeans
  • Versace Watch

I am still quite tired after my night out :P I have a “second wind” the day after, and feel full of lfe for an hour or so, but then my tiredness kicks in, which it has just done :P

I MUST catch up on reading blogs! I have not read any for a few days because I have been busy, I feel like I am out of the loop! :P When I am busy I think to myself “I will read them later” but then i’m always busy with something else. I will catch up today and then over the rest of the weekend too.

It is also FA Cup weekend, Newcastle vs Blackburn and some other great games today too, with Man U vs Man City tomorrow. Tonight is the return of the best show, Take Me Out Series 3 starts tonight, it’s gonna be great hopefully! :P

Last Night, Out In Newcastle, Don’t Remember Much!

Posted by Michael on Thursday 29th December, 2011

Hello blog!

I am still here, barely! Last night I was out in Newcastle, and I don’t remember very much of the night! The only things I can remember are a few of the bars, but I don’t really remember where I ended up, and I think I went home early although it wsan’t that early. I remember something about a girl in Subway, nothing else, just that there was a “girl”, I don’t remember anything about it. Speaking of Subway, when I woke up this morning I discovered that I actually did not eat the Subway I got, since it was on the floor!

I remember having a dirty woo woo in Indigo, and having Absolut Chambulls in Revolution too, not a wonder why I spent so much and don’t remember much.

I know I went to Floritas, because I have a photo of it…

I also found a tweet I posted on Twitter, around midnight/1AM which just reads, “HELP!!!” haha, what the hell…?!

Earlier in the day we went to play some pool and snooker, which was good. I had not played snooker for years, I used to really love it but the usual place I went to closed down. I won at both snooker and pool, so I was happy

I felt like I was living in The Hangover film this morning, could not remember a thing, which is unusual for me :D

Work On A Sunday!? Not Good!

Posted by Michael on Sunday 20th November, 2011

Hey blog :D

How has your Sunday been? Mine has been fine so far. This morning I had a whole morning of tv and lounging around, I watched an entire season of Entourage (8 episodes) which was fun :P

Last night I was out, it was a good night. I went home at around 1:30AM, I could not drink any more. We went to a club and I actually had nothing to drink! :o First time in my life I have went to a club and not had a drink, not even a non-alcoholic one, it was weird :P

I have no pics from last night, I have not been very good at taking pics and really been poor at it. I have to take more and better pics for you guys, I promise to take more and better pics!

For part of today I have had to do work :( Working on a Sunday, how shit! It is good to do it now though, it will give me a bit less to do tomorrow, I worked for about 2 hours today so that will take 2 hours off my work day tomorrow which is good…It’s not the best to work after a night out, it feels so shit and seems to take forever.

Now I am making dinner, chargrilled chicken, wedges and rice, a meal fit for a king  Tonight I will watch a film or two :P  Maybe get some chocolate as well, who knows :P

The thing I most hate about watching a film is I spend so much time choosing a film, staring at my wall of films, then it starts and I change my mind :P

Fenwicks Window 2011

Posted by Michael on Saturday 12th November, 2011

It is that time of the year again, Christmas so it means Fenwicks window. There were a few people there today, so I did not get a good pic close up, but here are a few pics for you. I may update it later with more pics. It is a generic christmas theme again this year :)

Thursday 3rd November 2011

Posted by Michael on Thursday 3rd November, 2011

Hello blog :)

So today I have done a little bit of work, but not too much, as I was out last night and got back late (or early this morning). We went to a few bars and then ended up in Tiger Tiger. It was quite funny, one bar we went to had around 20 people in, ALL men! What  a disgrace LOL! We went to Tiger and the bouncer told us “I am warning you, it’s only students tonight, I will let you in but it’s only students” hahaha WTF?!?! It’s not exactly the worst thing in the world, 18-21yr old girls, “oh no how terrible!” ;) They actually were rude, barging through people, not a wonder there are fights LOL. We had jelly shots which were nice, haha ;)

Today I got some more stuff, the rest of my CDs and a blu ray, Bad Teacher.

The old Example album, a classic album, The Fugees “The Score” and my new favourite French Rapper, Soprano. I will make a blog post about him soon, I just discovered him and he is amazing! :P I got Bad Teacher on Blu Ray too, and plenty more blu rays to come, there are so many good films I wanna buy which are coming out soon.

So tonight I am definitely just going to chill out, I have went and bought some chocolate so might watch Bad Teacher or maybe something else. I am so tired though :P I have to keep myself awake so I can get to sleep tonight otherwise I will be wrecked tomorrow :D
