Christmas Presents 2011 – Smellies

Posted by Michael on Wednesday 28th December, 2011

I thought I would split up what I got for Christmas into a few posts, so this is the smellies one; The aftershaves, grooming and so on all in this post.

First my three EDT’s. I have Bang Bang by Marc Jacobs, Dior Homme Intense and YSL L’Homme Libre. All three are really nice. This is the new Marc Jacobs for this year, Last year’s was “Bang” which I have but do not really like. This one is much nicer and less pungent, but still a powerful smell.

iPad Fashion Cases, Sleeves And Covers 2011/12

Posted by Michael on Thursday 22nd December, 2011

Christmas is fast approaching, and many people will get an iPad, or already have an iPad and may want a case. I have had a search around and found some really cool cases. The iPad is a fashion accessory as much as anything else, so wrapping it up in a cool fashionable case is the only way to go. It is hard to find lots of designer cases all under one roof, so I have compiled a few cases which I like, with a variety of price tags.

One thing which I am unsure of is how much do you spend on a case? An iPad will set you back at least £400, so is spending £300 on a case a silly idea? You can decide, I will just show you what is currently on offer at the moment.

The first case I have to write about is in fact not a fashion case, but a very cool one non the less. It is called a G-Form Extreme case, and is made of special materials. It is soft, lightweight and flexable, but has proven to be one of the most durable and tough cases which you can buy.

It has been tested and showed off a lot with its amazing strength; The case is said to have properties which change, so it is soft and flexable but when impact is made it becomes rigid and tough and can withstand quite a lot, including a bowling ball dropped on it. Check out this test below!

Quite impressive! :) If you are scared about dropping your beloved iPad on the floor or down the stairs it looks like this is the case for you, it looks pretty cool too.

It is currently available on pre-order for £70 in most places, and can be pre-ordered on Amazon and Firebox. Amazon release date is 15th January 2012. It does come in a variety of colours like black which is above, and yellow.

Now for the fashion cases…

  1. Mulberry case – Brown leather case, cool stitching and suede interior. £375 from MR Porter
  2. Louis Vuitton – One of the most recognisable brands out there, the traditional LV patterned design will give your iPad some high-end fashion looks. £255 from Louis Vuitton
  3. Ralph Lauren black leather case. nice clean design with front emblunm £125 from John Lewis
  4. Marc Jacobs – One of my favourite designs, bright blue so it will stand out a mile away, and it looks cool too. Embossed lettering throughout the case design with Marc by Marc Jacobs logo. £45 from MR Porter.
  5. Ted Baker Case – with a zip fastening and a sleeve to store extra swag. £32 from Nordstrom
  6. Mulberry Sleeve – Black leather sleeve, very simple and sleek design. £150 from John Lewis
  7. Dolce And Gabbana – D&G designer iPad case, with zipped front and opening. £335 from Luisaviaroma.com
  8. Gucci Case – Available in brown or black leather, this case has the Gucci diamond leather pattern embossed throughout and comes with an interior compartment. £325 from MR Porter.

My favourite has to be the Marc Jacobs case for the cool design, or if I were going for a more traditional contemporary look the Gucci case.

Marc Jacobs Watches AW11

Posted by Michael on Tuesday 1st November, 2011

Here are the Marc Jacobs watches for Autumn Winter 2011. I think they look really nice, as did the previous season.

I think the purple silicone strap watch looks really funky and cool. I really love the design on the face of the watch.

Marc Jacobs – Bang Bang Fragrance

Posted by Michael on Thursday 25th August, 2011

I love to smell good! If you read my blog you will know, and I famously have over 50 scents and the list just keeps on growing. The other week I got myself Gucci Guilty and the new 212 VIP, both of which I like a lot. I have now had a smell of the new Marc Jacobs, Bang Bang, and I like that :)

I have the original “Bang” from Marc Jacobs, which I got at Xmas. I got it in a sale, it was part of usual gift packs that perfume makers do at Xmas time, and I bought it online, so I had no idea of the smell. Well it wasn’t good, I don’t like it at all, I think it smells too much like pepper.

This new one, Bang Bang smells more fresh but also powerful. It is obviously hard to describe what a smell is like, but I would maybe compare it to something like Gucci Envy.

If you buy this new one make sure you get it right, it is the one in the BLUE bottle :)

Same design bottle as the old, but in blue. I will probably be getting this soon :)

22nd March 2011 – Todays Fashion Picks

Posted by Michael on Tuesday 22nd March, 2011

Here are my fashion picks for today. First there is a cricket jumper. Yeah, I know I have been banging on about these for a few days now, and everytime I keep looking for clothes I keep on seeing them. The one I really want is the All Saints  one which is out of stock. I have tried to contact them but they arent very helpful. The one I found is from Jack Wills. I wrote about them previously, and would like something from them, so this may be it.

The t shirt is a Marc Jacobs tee celebrating the 10th anniversary. I like this t-shirt, it is a fitted style, and since I already have a Marc Jacobs t-shirt I know that the quality is good.

Last we have a Ralph Lauren polo from their Big Pony collection. When these first came out I wasnt a huge fan, but now I like them, they are cool. There are many colour combinations available, but I like this yellow and blue combo.

  • Cricket Jumper from Jack Wills £98 [here]
  • Marc Jacobs T Shirt from My-Wardrobe £65 [here]
  • Ralph Lauren polo from Ralph Lauren £95 [here]

Fragrances 2011 – Smellin’ Good!

Posted by Michael on Wednesday 5th January, 2011

Hey Hey blog!

I got some good fragrances for Xmas and also bought myself a couple. Here is what I have to add to my collection.

That is Marc Jacobs Bang, Bleu De Chanel, D&G number 1Dolce and Gabbana The One Gentleman, Bvlgari Man and Dolce and Gabbana The One.

Favourites? I have to say I still LOVE the original “The One” from Dolce and Gabbana, and I also love the new Bvlgari, its really really nice.

The Bang from Marc Jacobs is probably my least favourite, its strong, and smells like pepper. Maybe I just have to learn to love it :D The bottle is by far the most interesting tho :) The D&G number 1 came in the white zipped pouch above.

A Couple Of Plaid Shirts

Posted by Michael on Monday 20th September, 2010

I know that some people LOVE these shirts, and own loads, but I didnt get one yet. They have been popular in the past year or so, and i think some look good, but lots dont.

I think that girls wear these shirts really well, they look really cute and stylish, but also very smart on a man. I am liking some of the newer designs and colour combinations, and some are very toned down with the colours which i prefer. I stayed away from these for a while because i thought they were a bit too loud. I prefer a more contemporary look.

Here are two i like, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren.

They are available to buy at My-Wardrobe

Marc Jacobs T-shirt – Can You See The Face?

Posted by Michael on Tuesday 30th March, 2010

Hey my fashion lovelies!

So, i have had this Marc Jacobs t-shirt for a while now, and i bought it because it looked cool in the store. I love charcoal grey, really really dark grey, i think it contrasts with other colours well, and its not “boring black”.

I always thought the front was just a pattern, because when i wear it i am close to it and so i have never seen the face…So when i took this photo i was surprised to see that there was a face in my tee!

Maybe when you look at me in it you cant see it clearly, or maybe you can and people assumed i knew so didnt say anything, but i didnt know, because i cant tell when i wear it, and i cant tell when looking at it (as i would be too close.

The pattern is made up of normal print, and flock (thats a velour kind of touch). Its really nice :) It was £75

What do you think? This is one of my favourite tops to wear :)

Marc Jacobs Sunglasses next?

Posted by Michael on Monday 15th February, 2010

I was browsing around ASOS when i saw these sunglasses by Marc Jacobs. They are nice, i love big aviator style glasses, and these are green with nice lenses. They are not the most expensive, but still a hefty price tag of £89, especially when i already have Prada and D&G sunglasses already.

I think these go in the ‘maybe’ list :)

What do you think of them?

You can get them here

Blue Contrast Marc Jacobs Cardigan

Posted by Michael on Friday 29th January, 2010

I have a stupid amount of cardigans, i just love them! They are great for any occasion, and you can mix them up with almost any clothing, keeping style and warm in the winter or stylish in the summer. This is a one i have just seen from Marc Jacobs, Navy blue with electric blue contrasting colours. It looks really good, and can be worn open with a t-shirt underneath or button half/all the way up.

You can get this from myWardrobe here, and costs £220.
