Bleu De Chanel Review

Posted by Michael on Friday 4th March, 2011

I have had Bleu De Chanel for a few months now, and I really do like it. Its the first Chanel fragrance I have had, and I think they have made a very good product.

The bottle

One of the things which draws people to any EDT or aftershave is the bottle. Its always something I look at, and its always nice to see designers create something unique for their bottle. The bottle is almost as important as the actual smell, if you have something which looks good or unique you are halfway there. The Bleu de Chanel bottle keeps it very smart and simple looking, but dont be fooled. It has a magnetic top, which is very clever. It will not sit on top of the bottle with the logo facing the wrong way, it can only go so that the logo is facing the correct way. Very clever and thought out stuff.

The smell

It smells fresh, and a little strong but not too much. It smells inviting and very smooth. It is a light smell, which could be worn at night or during the day if you want to smell really good. It is not over-powering but at the same time you will be able to smell it.

Similar smells include Gucci by Gucci and Narciso Rodriguez for him, and a hint of Vera Wang for men.

Fragrances 2011 – Smellin’ Good!

Posted by Michael on Wednesday 5th January, 2011

Hey Hey blog!

I got some good fragrances for Xmas and also bought myself a couple. Here is what I have to add to my collection.

That is Marc Jacobs Bang, Bleu De Chanel, D&G number 1Dolce and Gabbana The One Gentleman, Bvlgari Man and Dolce and Gabbana The One.

Favourites? I have to say I still LOVE the original “The One” from Dolce and Gabbana, and I also love the new Bvlgari, its really really nice.

The Bang from Marc Jacobs is probably my least favourite, its strong, and smells like pepper. Maybe I just have to learn to love it :D The bottle is by far the most interesting tho :) The D&G number 1 came in the white zipped pouch above.

Lacoste Elegance EDT: Blast From The Past

Posted by Michael on Thursday 4th November, 2010

Lacoste Elegancewas one of my favourite fragrances which I had, I think I first got it in 2006. I have a bit of a habit re-buying them if I have loved them, I did that with Gucci Envy, and it took ages to find someone selling it.

Now i have re-bought Lacoste Elegance, in a bigger bottle aswell. Its old, so it wasnt very expensive, but the new bottle I got isnt a spray and i didnt realise :( Its still the same great smell though.

The new bottle I got was only £15 and it’s 90ml. My old bottle is 50ml I think, and there is still a bit left, although I will throw it out now, since I have a newer bigger bottle :)

Lacoste Elegance, aka “Man smell”

My Fragrences September 2010

Posted by Michael on Tuesday 7th September, 2010

Hello blog!

I love to smell good, and i have posted my fragrences before, well here is the September 2010 version :) I have added some new ones, and i think i have over 50 now, but some are a bit old, and need replacing i think :P

Current favourites are the New Hugo Boss “Bottled Night”, Gucci by Gucci and my Gucci Envy; I have had 2 bottles of this, got the first in 2005, loved it so much i had to buy it again earlier this year, it was quite hard to find somewhere who still sold it!

I also like my Vera Wang, new Ralph Lauren and Narsico Rodriguez.

If i re-buy new bottles it would be my Armani Code, Jean-Paul Gaultier (original), Lacoste Elegance, Lacoste Blue, D&G The One and maybe a few others. Its a shame they stop selling some after a while, i do not know where i would get the Lacoste from for example, i have good memories of wearing that, as i do with others ;) Every smell has its own story :P

I might get the new Chanel for men, Chanel Bleu, Bleu de Chanel for men.

Ralph Lauren Number 2

Posted by Michael on Friday 20th August, 2010

I got yet another new fragrance! Yes, i now have another new name to add to my huge collection, Ralph Lauren. They have brought 4 new fragrances out, all number 1 to 4, and all have their own name and smell. I have number 2, the red bottle, which is called Seductive.

It does smell nice, it is one of those which needs the air to hit and and wait a few minutes for you to really smell it properly. It smells more fruity and subtle than a harsh dark smell, it is not very musky.

Hugo Boss Bottled Night: Smells Soo Good!

Posted by Michael on Saturday 31st July, 2010

I got some more smelly stuff! :P Its Hugo Boss Bottled Night, and it smells sooooo good!! :) Its my favourite smell this year i think, i got the 50ml EDT bottle which was £35.

It has a very strong and rich smell, its definatly a night smell which is where it got its name i guess. I will be wearing this alot, it is hard to describe a smell, but it is good.

Its the new fragrance from Hugo Boss, I have a few of theirs, and this is by far there best effort, its really nice :)

Top 5 Fragrances for Men

Posted by Michael on Friday 29th January, 2010

I love to smell nice, and i love a variation of smells. One of the things about buying EDT, Aftershaves and things like that online you cannot know how they smell! So, it you wanna buy any online, here are what i think are the top 5, and i will try to explain how they smell, which is hard to do!

Eau D’Issey by Issey Miyake is in a cool fake stone type of bottle, with a woody masculine kind of smell. It is a bit musky, but not too much. It is sort of an old skool aftershave smell which i am into at the moment.

Gucci Envy is probably my all time favourite, and combines a fruity, wooden and fresh smell all into one. Even though it is over 10 years old it is an essential if you want to smell good, it is very hard to find these days.

Gucci by Gucci is the latest scent from Gucci. It is a powerful smell, which is fresh, and is very much like an old aftershave with a bit of a twist.

The One by Dolce and Gabbana is once again an old skool aftershave type of smell. A bit woody, a bit fresh, these kinds of smells work well in a spray bottle rather than am open bottle, you can get better coverage without being too overpowering.

Narciso Rodriguez is not as big of a name as the others, but the smell is so good. Once again i have gone old skool, but this one smells a bit more updated, with little bits of retro aftershave smell.

I do not like the fragrances which are too fruity. I like them fresh, or muskey, but the fruity ones seem too femanine and smell very sticky. Some have a strong smell of lemon and citrus, which i try to stay away from. I would not reccommend these types of smells for evening, and if you have to wear them i would suggest daytime use.

My Fragrance/Aftershave EDT Collection

Posted by Michael on Wednesday 27th January, 2010

I have LOADS!!! I have to keep throwing the odd bottle out and replacing it since they do run out over time. At the moment this is my collection, which is 40-50 strong, i dont know the number, i lost count when i tried to count them from the pic lol

Just some of them include Issey Miyake, Joop, Gucci, 212, Dolce and Gabbana, Vera Wang, Bvlgari, Armani and many more as you can see.

If i get any more do you have any recommendations?
