Get Well Soon Robert Kubica

Posted by Michael on Monday 7th February, 2011

The 2011 Formula One season is not far away, but it will be without, or at least not start with Robert Kubica.

He suffered an horrific injury yesterday in a rally, his right hand was partially severed aswell as having arm and leg fractures. He has regained consciousness after 7 hours of surgery, and has been able to move his fingers.

Its very sad news, there is no word on when he will be able to race again, if he can. Some sources are saying a few months, others are saying it could take a year.

I really hope he makes a full recovery and is back in F1 soon. He is a great driver, and could be a future world champion given the right opportunity.

If you want to see the state of the car, you can see a YouTube vid below. The sound is in Italian.

Well Done Sebastian Vettel F1 2010 World Champion

Posted by Michael on Sunday 14th November, 2010

Hello lovely blog readers!

Did you watch the final grand prix race of the season? Well I did. Sebastian Vettel won the race and is the new world champion, beating teammate Mark Webber and squeezing past Fernando Alonso to win the world title by 4 points.

It was an OK race from a neutral point of view, not too much happened, and was more or less won and lost with a safety car.

Fernando Alonso who I wanted to win did not have a great race, and was stuck behind a Renault for the majority of the race. Bad strategy from Ferrari lost Alonso the title, it was a moment which would of won or lost him the title, and it ended up loosing him it.

But its been a good long season for Ferrari, Redbull should have had it wrapped up a long time ago, they have had the fastest car all season, and it still went down to the wire.  The win for Vettel today means he was level with Fernando Alonso with 5 victories this season.

However I like Vettel, so I am happy for his first world title win. Next year will come around sooner rather than later, only around 4 months to go to the start of the 2011 season. I am kind of sad its all over :(

Weekend of Sport!

Posted by Michael on Sunday 4th April, 2010

What a weekend of Sport! Football, Formula One and Boxing….

David Haye defended his world title for the first time with a great victory over Ruiz, flooring him in the first round, he dominated and the Ruiz camp threw in the towel in the 9th Round.

Sebastian Vettel won the Malaysian Grand Prix this morning, a 1-2 for Redbull (who i fund :P ) with Mark Webber 2nd. Another good race in F1 with its change in format with no fuel stops, there was plenty of overtaking and some good battles. Whoever calls it boring isnt really an F1 fan, plenty sports could be called “boring” if you arent into them.

Newcastle are promoted!!! Well…Almost. They are 15 points clear of 3rd with 5 games to go, so technically They could still get pipped on Goal Difference. That isnt going to happen, and all they need is 1 point, but will be hoping for 3 tomorrow on Easter Monday to secure promotion. YEEEEAAAAH!!!

In the Premier League Manchester United lost to Chelsea :( I want Arsenal to win the league, or anyone but Chelsea will do :) Somehow Sunderland beat Tottenham, despite missing 2 of the 3 penalties they got :O

Another boring zzzz weekend is over

Hey!

How are you all today!? Did you have a good weekend? I had a really boring one. Did not do anything, watched the first race of the F1 season and that was about all. Fernando Alonso won! He will be the world champion for the third time this year! The F1 should be good this year, with the top 4 teams all being the best with the best drivers, its the first time that has happened in my lifetime. I think the race was a bit boring without the fuel stops, not much overtaking going on. I hope that changes for the next races, because they have the teams and the drivers now, they dont wanna mess up what could be a great season.

Newcastle drew in the derby with ‘Boro, but we are still top of the league and clear by a nice margin with a game in hand. Newcastle should go up, lets hope that we can bring in new faces and bigger names, and get us in the top half of the premier league where the fans expect us to be (at least!).

Michael Schumacher confirmed for Mercedes

schumacher

Well, the worst kept secret in F1 (or maybe not lol)  is finally official. Michael Schumacher will come back after retiring to drive for Ross Braun and the new Petronas-Mercedes team.

41 years old, and 7 titles later he makes his return. Formula One has just got a bit more interesting. I hope they give him a competitive car, he could really be a challenge to Button, Alonso and Hamilton.

No more free Ferraris for MR Schumacher :(

What do you think of his return?
