Blackburn 1995 Shearer Shirt – I Want This

Posted by Michael on Sunday 28th November, 2010

I was browsing Ebay and found this, and want it! :P Its the Blackburn 1994/95 shirt, from when they won the league, and has the Shearer number 9 printing on it.

I used to like Blackburn, they had a great team and loved Shearer of course ;) This shirt reminds me of my childhood, where I would watch every single premiership game I could no matter who was playing, it was just watching football which was great.

Its a very famous shirt, but Im not a Blackburn fan, so the £95 asking price is a bit high for me.

I did think about collecting football shirts, Since I do buy them and have for a while I already have a little collection going. I could of got a CSKA Moscow shirt a few weeks ago but changed my mind, I really wanted one, they are my adopted team from Russia haha :D It could become an expensive hobby, that CSKA shirt was £70, that with the Blackburn shirt would be almost £170 just for 2 shirts! I was thinking of maybe getting one a month, but not just a normal premiership shirt, but a rare, hard to find or unusual shirt.

Spain Home Shirt 2011 & Spain Away Shirt 2011

Posted by Michael on Thursday 18th November, 2010

Like I mentioned yesterday, Spain have launched yet another shirt, this one will be the 2011 shirt, available to buy now. I am assuming this is only going to be used upto Euro 2012, and then release yet another shirt for that competition.

That’s loads of shirts Spain have released, 2008, 2009, 2010, and now this, making it 4 shirts in only 2 years! I supposed they have an excuse, there is a new badge on this one, for winning the world cup, aswell as the first design to officially have the star on it.

What do you think? I really like it. I know there are some people who dont, and saying it has too much blue in it, but I prefer them to have different designs, I hate it when a team like England bring out a new shirt and you can barely tell the difference between them.

Back to white for an away shirt. I prefer the gold or blue, but nevermind. Maybe they change the away colours every few years…last was blue, before was yellow, before that I think it was white; I remember in 2002 they had 3, using white as the away and blue as a 3rd. I have them all :P

17th November 2010 – International Football Day

Posted by Michael on Wednesday 17th November, 2010

Hey blog!

Today there is so much football on, and I am watching as much as I can :D The teams involved are huge aswell, the games are better than in the world cup  Its weird that all these big teams are playing against each other on the same night, I have known nothing like it.

I plan to watch the first half of Brasil vs Argentina, 30 minutes of Germany vs Sweden, 1st half of England vs France, and then all of Spain vs Portugal. The games overlap so I can watch a bit of each one, it wont be finished until around 23.00 :)

I also saw a glimpse of the new Spain shirt (blog post about that later), I wonder if they will be wearing it tonight? We shall see :)

Spain VS Lithuania Tonight

Posted by Michael on Friday 8th October, 2010

Yes its international football week, and thanks to UEFA that is Friday and Tuesday nights these days.

Spain have loads of injuries for both games, and have called up some unfamiliar faces. Spain will be without Xavi, Pedro, Jesús Navas, Fernando Torres, Cesc Fabregas, Raúl Albiol and Juan Mata.

Into the Squad there are places for Bruno Soriano, Pablo Hernandez, Borja Valero and Aritz Aduriz.

The under 21s have a big game against Croatia in a playoff for the European Championships, so players like Mata, Bojan, and Canales are playing in that game instead of being considered for the full team.

Vamos España!!!

Spain are the best team in the world

According to the new FIFA rankings…They dont really mean anything, well unless you are number 1, then you can go around saying it!

France drop all the way to 21st, behind Egypt (9th), Greece (12th) and even Australia (20th). Italy also drop to 11th, thats the 2 finalists from only 4 years ago out of the top 10.

England are 7th, with Netherlands and Brazil 2nd and 3rd.

Its the most odd looking Rankings list i have seen, which is probably why nobody takes any notice of it. Gabon ahead of teams like Sweden, Ireland and even teams which qualified for the world cup like Cameroon and Korea!?!? WTF?!?!?

What do you think of the FIFA world rankings?

España = CAMPEONES!!!!!!

Posted by Michael on Tuesday 13th July, 2010

CAMPEONES, CAMPEONES, olé olé olé!

Yes!! Spain did it and won the World Cup for the very first time on Sunday night!! I am sure you are aware, of all of this now, it is Tuesday, so it was a few days ago. They beat Netherlands 1-0 after extra time, with a Andrés Iniesta goal :)

What a great night it was on Sunday, it was such a good party night, i had my drinks, champagne, vodka, redbull, food, air horns, flags, shirt, and blasting music after the final

I did not really go to bed, i watched Madrid TV and fell asleep for a few hours, and then it was morning already! My mouth tasted of champagne until Monday night!

I was so tired on Monday! But it didnt matter, I watched Madrid TV again and saw the parties and everything all over again, i wish i was in Madrid, but watching it on TV was 2nd best, it made me feel like i was there :)

Monday night it was another night of celebration, watching Madrid TV, seeing the players meet the royal family of Spain, the king and queen, prince and princesses, it was really good. The king also made a speach, which was so cool!! Then the team went to meet the prime minister of Spain, which was also cool, and funny, they started jumping up and down and he joined in!! All the crowd were amazing, chanting INIESTA, INIESTA!! and IKER, IKER!!

Then the players had a bus tour all over the city, it was crazy! :D Pepe Reina was going mental, and so was Piqué, it was so good, i do wish i was there! There were so many people, estimated to be 1 million people come out to support La Roja yesterday! It ended at puente del rey, where they took the stage. Fans had already been there for hours, and there was entertainment on, but the real reason people came was to see the players, and they werent disapointed :)

They took the stage, and it was great! Just like in 2008 Pepe Reina was the legendary MC, calling each player, and it was so good! He got to number 10, Fabregas, got him to the front of the stage, where he held him with Piqué and Puyol and they put a Barca shirt over him, he didnt know about that, haha!! He looked good in a Barca shirt ;) I bet the Arsenal fans didnt like that :P

It was such a great night, i still have a bad head, oh well, its all good :)

YouTube Preview Image

It was such an emotional few days, you have probably seen clips on YouTube of Iker Casillas kissing his girlfriend who works for TV channel TeleCinco Sara Carbonero. Also Pepe Reina singing and dancing to them on the plane home!!

I LOVE SPAIN, VIVA ESPAÑA!!!!!

Spain win, Semi Final here we come!

Posted by Michael on Sunday 4th July, 2010

olé olé olé olé!!!!!!!!

HELLOOOOOO!!!!!

Spain won last night as you probably know! I am still amazingly happy. They are in the semi final for the first time, and will play Germany on Wednesday night for a place in the World Cup final. This is sooo cool!

I did say i would go to Madrid, but its just so impossible to get there! I would have to get a train to another city in the UK, then a plane, then the same back…Plane tickets arent too bad, but the train costs loads if you book with no advance, more than a plane!

I will probably just end up watching the game here in the UK :( Oh well, it will still be amazing! :)

Wanna know how happy i was? I looked a bit like this, and still feel like this…….

World Cup Quarter Finals

Posted by Michael on Saturday 3rd July, 2010

Well yesterday saw the first 2 quater final games, and it was:

Netherlands 2 – 1 Brazil
Ghana 1 – 1 Uruguay (2 - 4 on pens)

Both were good games. Netherlands finished the game in control and were the stronger side, Brazil scored first, and then lost their cool. In their usual way, the brazilians threw their toys out of the pram, lead by Philipe Melo who got sent off, Michel Bastos also should of had a 2nd booking and went off.

Poor Poor Ghana. They were leading right on half time, Uruguay equalised, and it went to extra time. Ghana had a corner, the ball got headed towards goal twice, once it was blocked, the 2nd time Luis Suarez blocked it with his hands, got sent off and Ghana had a penalty in the 30th minute of Extra time. It was the last kick of the game, Asamoah Gyan stepped up…….And missed!!! What a shame it was, and what a disgrace from Uruguay cheating. The game went to penalties, Gyan stepped up again, and scored. Ghana went on to miss 2, with Uruguay only missing one, and going through to play Netherlands for a place in the final.

Today we have Germany vs Argentina, and later Spain vs Paraguay. I am hoping to see Germany and of course Spain win :)

Spain 1 – 0 Portugal

Posted by Michael on Tuesday 29th June, 2010

Attention Everyone….If you look up at the sky and see a star it is not a star. Its the beaming smile i have on my face

Spain beat Portugal 1-0 to book their place into the Quater Final against Paraguay. The game is another evening kickoff, and will be on Saturday on BBC if you are in the UK.

Tonights game was great. It was hard for Spain to play, Portugal were yet another team who play 10-men behind the ball against Spain, or any other good team. They never tried to attack, and when they did it was too late. Spain dominated possesion, had a few good shots at goal, created more and deserved to win. Portugal had the odd half chance on the break which is all they could manage. Cristiano Ronaldo bearly got a kick of the ball.

I said i would go to Madrid if Spain got to the Semi Final..Well they might! I dont know if i can even go, you cant fly to Madrid from Newcastle so i would have to fly from somewhere else, which makes things more complicated, not ideal when doing something last minute.

Spain vs Portugal: Big game tonight!

Posted by Michael on Tuesday 29th June, 2010

It is the big one tonight! Spain vs Portugal!! :) I am nervous and excited for the game, it brings back memories of 2004 where we lost 1-0 to Portugal.

I am nervous because Spain have only played well at times, the first 2 games they played well but lost the first, the last one they played average but won, the defence looks a bit shaky. There are other questions such as is Torres fit? He doesnt look it so should he play? Xabi Alonso also picked up a knock as did Albiol, I dont think Sergio Busquets is good enough either, hes made some mistakes.

All questions will be answered at 19.30 when the game kicks off :)
