Made In Chelsea Series 2

Posted by Michael on Monday 19th September, 2011

It is back! Made In Chelsea series 2 starts tonight at 10pm on E4. I think it is my favourite of the new “reality” TV shows; TOWIE, MIC and Geordie Shore, I probably enjoy Made In Chelsea more than the rest. Series 2 will see new characters as well as old, I hope that it is as good as the first series :)

Sunday 18th September 2011

Posted by Michael on Sunday 18th September, 2011

Hey blog!

How was your Saturday night? Mine was just a quiet one, I stayed in and had a few drinks.

Today I went to IKEA! :D First time since I was a kid that I went there, and it is a cool place, I love it :P I was going to get some new furniture for my bedroom, I am sick at how messy it has become, there just seems to be piles of things everywhere, and my wardrobe is too small these days, I have so many clothes. So I bought myself a DVD Stand, wardrobe, and 2 chests of drawers. The wardrobe is massive and is about 1.5 times the size of mine, so I should have plenty of room for loads of things.

I have already built my DVD tower, it looks cool, I have my blu rays in there, I counted, and I now have 36 blu rays, I have more of those than DVDs :P

Speaking of films, tonight I am going to watch Fast and Furious 5, I am actually going to watch that right now :)

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday :)

Canon S100 – My Next Camera?

Posted by Michael on Saturday 17th September, 2011

So I have been pondering for a few weeks, what camera should I get next? Not only that, but I was in the same predicament as the last time; Should I get a compact, a DSLR or a Four Thirds camera? The last time I chose a compact, and got a Sony HX5v. I was pleased with it, it is good quality, has a good zoom, can do good video, and small enough (just) to fit in my jeans pocket. But as I used it more and more, and as time went on, I got into looking at my pics more, and thought that I could get a better quality image with a better camera.

The trade off for me is size vs image quality. I am not a photographer, I use my camera for the blog and for going out, and the usual things a person would. I would love to have a DSLR but I know I would hardly use it, because I don’t want to carry it around with me everywhere.

So then the choice was the upgrade to my camera, the HX9v, the Olympus ZX1, Lumix LX5 or the Canon S95. But those had their problems; I didnt think the HX9v would be too much of an imrpovement and is also slightly bigger; The LX5 and ZX1 are also too big, with the LX5 having a lens cap; The S95 is super slim and great, the image quality is supposed to be great, however the video was poor quality and the zoom only 3.8 or something.

But yesterday Canon announced the successor to the S95, the Canon S100. It seems quite good, it sounds like it is what I am looking for actually. It should be a good quality compact, it is at the high-end, with a better zoom at 5x, HD video, 3″ screen, its smaller than my HX5 so will fit into my pocket even easier. It could be the perfect camera for me :)

I don’t like the pop up flash, but it seems as though more and more compacts, especially the high end ones are going this way. I don’t like that hand grip either, it makes the camera look a bit cheap and nasty.

What is not perfect of course is the price, which is supposed to be £430, and I think paying over £400 for a compact is expensive. If I want to get it when it first comes out I will be forced to pay around the RRP, as with all cameras though I imagine it will come down a little.

The S100 is due to come out in November.

Just Your Average Saturday

Posted by Michael on Saturday 17th September, 2011

So, what do you do on your average Saturday? Mine is pretty boring, which includes me doing not much, relaxing, and on occasions a little bit of work. We all love the weekend, most of us deserve a few days of rest because we are working 5 days in a row, so we need a break. But sometimes it feels like the waste of a day, or a weekend in some cases. It is a catch-22 really, we need time to chill and relax, but it feels like time just wasting away…

Anyway tonight I may also just stay in and have a few drinks. I have been going out a lot and had a few consecutive weeks of going out, and I have LOTS of alcohol from the charity event last week…

I got the Martini Asti and Blossom Hill chilling in my fridge  I also got loads of Red Bull and Vodka, as well as my Turbo Drinks, I think I have one left.

I finally got it done today! :D

I love my job, it means I can do all my own shirts, which is cool :P

Friday 16th September 2011 – Vodka Time!

Posted by Michael on Friday 16th September, 2011

Hey blog!

OK So today I went and picked up my Belvedere Ice Bucket…In the images I saw it looked quite big, and I saw a similar one which looked big too, so I went to pick my package up today and was shocked when I saw the size….

So only 1 standard bottle fits, and its a tight squeeze even with only that! :P I can fit a can of Red bull, a bottle of vodka and maybe a tiny bit of ice…I tried a bottle of champagne which also fits, JUST. I actually was expecting a much larger box, which could fit at least 2 bottles in with ample space, so you can see I was shocked when I got this! :D Still, it looks cool, and it will do a job I suppose.

I dont have Belvedere vodka, so I used my Fashion Vodka my Michel Adam instead :P I was going to buy a large bottle of Belvedere, but I doubt very much it would fit!

Yet More Blu Rays; Blues Bros. Fast & Furious 5 etc.

Posted by Michael on Thursday 15th September, 2011

I have so many blu rays now, maybe around 35? I cant remember actually, but I do keep buying them :P

Here are the ones I have got today:

The Blues Brothers, Knocked Up, Entourage Season 7, Stand By Me and Fast & Furious 5.

I have seen all of these apart from Fast and Furious 5, so I will probably watch that at some point this weekend. The Blues Brothers and Stand By Me are classic films which have made their way on to blu ray, Entourage of course I have to get for my collection, this is the latest blu ray which only came out on Monday, however it is season 7 and not season 8 which has just finished, that blu ray has not bee released yet. Also Knocked Up, I have seen this film once or twice but not properly all the way through, so I thought I would get it so I can sit down and watch it properly :)

Got My New 2nd Monitor Today

Posted by Michael on Thursday 15th September, 2011

Hey blog!

So today I got my new monitor, and went back to a 2 monitor set up. It is such a great thing, I can have 2 different things displayed at the same time, all from the same PC. So I can have a DVD/Video on my new 24″ display, while browsing the Internet on my little 22″ one.

My new monitor is a Samsung 24″ LED Widescreen, and it looks really good. It makes my older monitor look quite small, although its only 2″ smaller.

It means I can run multiple windows of website too…So above I have Google on one monitor, then I have split the other one to have Facebook and Twitter :P I hardly use FB, this is just for illustration; But it is good to have 2 things at once; So I can write my blog in the left monitor, and have twitter on the right (which is what I am doing now!)

I recommend you go with a set up like this, once you have you will wonder how you lived without it :P

Stuff From My Clean Up Sept. 2011

Posted by Michael on Wednesday 14th September, 2011

So I had a big clean up, I seem to be having these more and more. It is usually clothes, but this time I have packed up loads of old things I don’t immediately need but still want to keep. So I came across lots of old stuff, some memorable and some not. Here is some stuff which I have picked out….

Un poco Beso! ;)

Mi Amor Raquel! I found this photo, completely stumbled across it, forgot I even had it. It is when I was 18, in 2002 in Mallorca. A Spanish girl, Raquel, she used to call me “mi amor” hahaha! aaaah I love my memories :D

I found my old football programmes. I used to get these when going to the games. The first Newcastle game I ever went to was Newcastle vs Middlesbough, I remember it well. It was a Newcastle win, 1-0 and the first North East derby in the Premier League.

Maybe the first UEFA Cup game I went to was Newcastle vs Halmstads, it was a good game, Newcastle won 4-0 I believe, well if you look at my markings LOL! :P Just look at that team…All superstars! :D Steve Harper is still at the club, and was a member of the team if you look above. You will also see “Freddie Ljungberg” on the Halmstads list, we did not know him back then ;)

And Newcastle vs Barcelona, yeah this is the programme from THAT game…Newcastle 4-3 Barcelona. I actually did not go to this game, but a friend got me the programme. I really wish I had of gone obviously! :P

I like F1, but I loved it when I was younger. I used to go to a few models shows, and got some die cast models. They were pretty expensive, well, expensive when you are 12 or 13 years old :P I wonder if they are worth anything? Probably not!
