Marlon Roudette And Mattafix

Posted by Michael on Sunday 2nd October, 2011

Marlon Roudette is a member of Mattafix, a duo which I like, in particular I love the song Big City Life. From 2006, it has loads of good memories for me :) He now has a solo single out, which is doing well in Germany, he is number one, and I like that song too, but it will never beat Big City Life ;)

It is sort of weird, since he and Mattafix are from London, but are more famous in Germany and other places in Europe and quite unknown in comparison in the UK.

Here is his current song, New Age.

I like it, but it will never replace…..

Big City Life, 2006, such an amazing song and special memories! :) (I think the official first release was 2005, but it will always be remembered by me for 2006 ;) ) It was the 7th best selling song of 2006 in Germany (Source: MTV.DE)

FIFA Street 2012 – Coming Soon

Posted by Michael on Saturday 1st October, 2011

So I got FIFA 12 yesterday, and I was playing today and noticed that the ad board round the pitch were advertising FIFA Street. So I checked it out, and its coming back! :D

I loved FIFA Street 1 and 2, the 3rd I did not get, because it did not look very good with those exaggerated characters. FIFA Street was so long ago, and several months back I decided I wanted to get back into it, and tried to get it for the XBOX (I lost my copy somewhere) since I think you can play original xbox games on the 360. Anyway I didn’t get it. I searched the EA Sports forums, and elsewhere, and the official word was “there are no plans for any more FIFA street games”. That disappointed me a bit, its a great “pick up and play” game.

Anway, now it has been announced and is coming back! :D Actually it was announced around 31st August, but I just found out now  FIFA Street 4 or 2012 or whatever it will be called, is due out early 2012, with March 2012 being the likely date.

It is based on the FIFA 12 engine, there will be a huge number of tricks and skills, and you will be pleased to hear as I am that the over-exaggerated characters are gone, and a more realistic looking feel will come with this game :)

I cant wait for it :D

Hair Products – Mini Guide To Gel, Wax, Clay Or Gum?

Posted by Michael on Friday 30th September, 2011

So I have had my hair long (not really long, but not shaved) for about a year and a half now, and since then I have had to use hair products. Since they were new to me, I have had to use a variety of different products and different brands, to see which one I like the best, and here are my mini reviews.

The first thing I will say is for this type of thing it is very much down to personal preference, so you may agree or disagree with the following which is fine :)

There are many different types of products out there; Gel, Wax, Clay, Gum and more. Each one is different, and then each one will be different from the different manufacturers. I have tried a few of each, here is what I currently have and tried lately.

You can see each one, and see what they actually look like when you open them. One which you cannot see pictured is my “Fudge gum” so I will write about that first.

Fudge Gum – It is one of the more expensive products out there, and I have to say I do not really like it. At first I did not know what gum was, I thought it was actually something in between wax and gel, but it is more of a gel and has a gel effect. It makes your hair quite hard which is not a style I particularly like.

Trevor Sorbie Clay – Clay is quite hard, and you have to make sure it isnt lumpy when you apply it. It is probably the best for styling longer hair, when my hair gets a bit too long I tend to use this more because it can manage longer/thicker hair better than wax. It gives a normal dry look, and keeps your hair feeling soft.

Trevor Sorbie Fibre Wax – This is like a very thick cream in texture, and one of my favourites. I use this when my hair is more short, usually after I have had my hair done. You can use a little amount and it manages hair well.

L’Oreal Studio Indestructible – This is extreme glue, and after I used it I did not like it. It has the same effects as the fudge gum, which is not for me. It seems like it will hold well, if you want an extreme hair style, so I guess the clue is in the name.

Soap And Glory Billy Wildhair – I like this one too. It is a wax, which is similar to the Trevor Sorbie fibre wax but less thick and more creamy. It seems to be better used when my hair is a bit on the shorter side.

L’Oreal Studio Indestructible Sculpting Wax – This wax is a thicker wax than the previous two, and is more of a greasy feel to it. However it works well, and keeps your hair soft.

So there you have it. If I could only use one then it would be one of the Trevor Sorbie’s, possibly the clay because it is the most versatile.

Weekend + Sun = Happy :)

Posted by Michael on Friday 30th September, 2011

Hey blog!

So it is finally the weekend, and it is like a weekend in the middle of summer, not the start of October :D Today I got up extra early and got all my work done, so I can relax in the sun :P I also went and bought FIFA 12, I did not go at midnight this time, just went to the shop like a normal person!

I still have my sore thorat and a cold and cough, the cold is actually getting worse! :( Typical to be ill when the weather is good :( So I think I will stay in this weekend which is a shame because of the weather.

Anyway today this is what I wore:

  • Viking Quest T Shirt (Entourage)
  • Ray Ban Wayfarers
  • Acne Jeans
  • Converse Trainers
  • ICE Watch

It is so hot I am now actually wearing my shorts :P

Have lots of fun in the sun ;)

My CSKA Moscow 2011/12 Shirt

Posted by Michael on Thursday 29th September, 2011

IT COME TODAY!

The story goes like this…..

OK, so if you read my blog you will know that one thing I love is to get things which are exclusive or hard to come by, and one thing I have wanted for a long time is a CSKA Moscow shirt. I searched every online retailer, I asked Reebok UK, Reebok RU and asked others to see if they could help me find this shirt. I went to football websites which stock shirts from round the world, and nobody has anything which was CSKA. Many stores sell Zenit and Spartak shirts, but for some reason unknown to me nobody sells CSKA.

They came 2nd in their league last year, and so are even in the Champions League this season, and have some international stars like Honda, Vagner Love, Mark Gonzalez and more, so I thought that this season it might be easier to get a shirt, and nope, it was not.

Then I found a place, a Russian website completely in Russian Cyrillic, they had 1 page in English describing how to order and that they shipped to England, so I took the plunge and bought a shirt.

It took around 2 weeks to come, and cost over 5,000 Rubles, I worked out that was around £100 and checked my bank statement and yeah, it was £106. The shirt was only about 2900 Rubles, but printing made it around 3300 rubles and the rest was shipping…The shipping was actually around £30 if you need a reference.

But all that aside it came, and I love it :P

So many sponsors on the front! This is such an authentic shirt, all the Spartak ones I have seen UK retailers selling are “unsponsored” versions.

Cyrillic writing on the back :P It says “Dzagoev” and amazingly he scored against Inter on Tuesday, but CSKA sadly lost 3-2 :( They use Cyrillic writing in their domestic games and English/latin style text in Europe.

I am glad I got this seasons shirt, I think it is better than last, so I am glad in a way that it took so long to find it :D

I might get the away shirt too ;)

Today I went for a “David Coulthard” look….If you watch F1 you have probably noticed he wears white jeans A LOT! Since this is probably the last week of sun we will get, I thought I better make the most of it and wear my white jeans and a light shirt.

  • Ralph Lauren Shirt
  • Tommy Hilfiger Jeans
  • Ted Baker Belt
  • Ray Ban Wayfarers

So sunny you can’t see me!
