Get My Language On!

Posted by Michael on Friday 7th October, 2011

I have always been interested in languages, but never fully learned anything other than English. I can speak broken parts of others, but wish I had the time and dedication to fully learn a language. I do have a LOT of books for various languages. One day I MUST learn another language, maybe I will only be fluent if I actually move to somewhere where I can’t fall back on English :P

I can speak Spanish better than any others, but my vocabulary is terrible!! :P Its weird because I know words in German or Swedish or whatever which I don’t know in Spanish  But I would say I can speak Spanish better than others, I understand the structure more, but I haven’t really spoke it for so long so I forget; But I can read it pretty well.

Languages really do interest me in general, they are fascinating :) I like to be able to say a few words in as many languages as possible :P

FIFA 12 – The Best FIFA Yet?

Posted by Michael on Friday 7th October, 2011

I know there are people who like PES over FIFA, and there is the “PES or FIFA” kind of war and it has been going on ever since ISS was around. I have to say I have almost always been a FIFA man, I did play PES for a bit and do on my 3DS, and I like it, but I also like FIFA, and I like FIFA more than PES, it is just a better game.

So, FIFA 12…It’s really good! FIFA seems to get harder and harder as the years go on, there seems to be more you need to do and think about when you play, and the refinements are really good.

I had my game set up on PRO, and found it really hard. I got beat something like 5-1 off Real Madrid, so I thought I better turn it down a bit to Semi-Pro for a while. So yesterday I had a tough game, then Tweeted “I love FIFA 12 but its hard” and played another game, and this happened…

I was quite impressed with myself

I usually play teams which are “better”, I am usually Newcastle or CSKA Moscow when I play, but since I support Spain I like to play as them from time to time, but still play against good teams. I guess that was just the game of my life because I don’t usually score so many goals

The good thing I like about this game are the challenges. They had them on the PSP version of a FIFA game which I love. This time round not only does it mimic real life, it updates on a regular basis. So the first challenge was to win as Dortmund after 60-odd minutes from being 1-0 down; The challenge I did yesterday was to come back and draw 2-2 with only 3 minutes left (3 minutes in real time) and you start with a penalty. I really love doing the challenges, it gives you a reason to play with a team you may not usually, so you play “more” of the game.

I have always liked this style of game, “pick up and play” if you have a spare 20 minutes, it’s a good style of game for a busy person or someone who doesn’t spend their life playing games.

I loved FIFA 11 and thought it was great, I think this is even better. It is so fluid and it is getting more realistic all the time.

Baby It’s Cold Outside!

Hello blog!

The weather looks alright if you look out the window, but don’t go out, its freezing! :P I have finished work for the day and for the week, and now its chillax time, oh yeah! Later today I will have spaghetti bolognese for dinner, I love it so much, I bought myself a baguette, which is seemingly my tradition now; You gotta have the bread with the pasta :P

It is also game day today, with Spain vs Czech Rep on later tonight, you can watch it on ITV4, so I had to wear some Spanish football things…

  • Evisu Jeans
  • Spain away GK Shirt
  • Junk De Luxe cardigan
  • Adidas Spain trainers
  • Ray Bans

I hardly wear these trainers, but I do love them.

They are all leather. I do wish I had gone for the suede option, I went for leather, but I do really like them all the same.

It is F1 this weekend too, the Suzuka GP, which means getting up really early to watch the race/qualifying live. I used to do that all the time as a kid, the same for Australia, they have changed the times these days tho, so I will have a look at them and see; I think maybe it is 6AM now? I am not sure, I dunno if I will watch live, I may just watch the race and watch the qualifying re-run in the afternoon.

Few Pics From October 2010

This time last year….

It is me from last year! I got my Canada Goose back then, the weather must of been crap early on, I cant remember but we did have a bad winter, it will be that time soon enough! :P I remember searching high and low to get this coat, and after finally finding it and paying a lot of money for one, I was the proud owner of a Canada Goose, and with the winter we had it was well worth getting!

Here is the pasta and meatballs I cooked back then too. All home made by my own fair hands; The meatballs and sauce, and the bread bought, it tasted amazing ;)

Spain vs Czech Rep & Scotland LIVE On Tv

Posted by Michael on Thursday 6th October, 2011

If you want to watch some amazing football from the World Champions, you can :D Both the Spain qualifiers are being broadcast on UK TV for free :)

Spain have already qualified from the group so it doesn’t really make much of a difference, but new players can be tried, like Jordi Alba who may play after getting his first call up to the full squad.

You can watch Spain vs Czech Rep on Friday (Tomorrow) live on ITV4, and Spain vs Scotland live on Tuesday on BBC 2/Red Button (England) and on BBC 1 in Scotland.

I cant wait for the games :)

England are also playing, against Montenegro tomorrow, all they need is 1 point to qualify. Lets hope they don’t arse it up this time round, although it looks more or less impossible for even England to arse it up at this stage

Steve Jobs – R.I.P

Posted by Michael on Thursday 6th October, 2011

Apple’s Steve Jobs has died aged 56. He was responsible for the iPod, iPhone and iPad amongst many other things. Sometimes I do not agree with the Apple arrogance and ignorance but I have to say I do like their products, I do have an iPod, iPhone, iPad and Macbook Pro and they are all great devices.

Morris Of Stockholm Cardigans Autumn 2011

Posted by Michael on Wednesday 5th October, 2011

I was having a browse around some stores for some clothes for my winter wardrobe and found these…

They are cardigans from Swedish brand Morris Of Stockholm. I really like what they put out, and these two cardigans are really nice. They both have elbow patches, which a lot of labels are doing for this Autumn/Winter. At first I was not a fan of the elbow patches, but now I am seeing more and more clothing which incorporates them and I now think they are cool.

These two cardigans are €145 and €224 respectively (Euros).

What do you think?

Wednesday 5th October 2011

Posted by Michael on Wednesday 5th October, 2011

Hey hey :D

So today has been pretty uneventful, I did the usual day to day thing and got my work on. Today it was a proper Autumn day, so this is what I was rocking today:

  • Calvin Klein White T Shirt
  • Farhi by Nicole Farhi Knit
  • Evisu Jeans
  • ICE Watch
  • Converse Trainers

I love this Nicole Farhi knit, I got it last December/January time; If you remember me blogging about it, it was the last in the store, and they only had a Small, I am a medium but liked it so much had to buy it :D It does JUST fit as you can see.

I wore my Evisu EU:ED Jeans too, the first time in months and months I have worn them. I forgot how soft and comfortable they are, I wish Evisu would made EU:ED again, and I would continue to buy loads of them, but I am looking less and less at Evisu for jeans these days. They have some cool looking ones, but it would be a “one-off” kind of purchase because they do lots of similar jeans these days.

I also did a funny designed t-shirt today at work, it is a long running joke with me and some of my friends. Here it is….

What do you think? ;)

I wanted to do some experimenting with printing, and thought up this design, and think it looks pretty good. The message of course is a private joke, which I do find funny :P

iPhone 4S Has Just Been Announced

Posted by Michael on Tuesday 4th October, 2011

The poor new guy at Apple…

Tim Cook the new Steve Jobs unveiled the “new” iPhone, which is not so much different to the old one. In fact, the design and actual handset is virtually identical if not the same, and he tried to hammer home that this is indeed a much better phone “on the inside”.

So basically, what has changed, what is new, what do you need to know?

  • Faster and better processor (“A5 chip”)
  • better graphics
  • It has something called Siri
  • It is out 14th October for the U.S. and The UK, as well as Germany, France, Japan, Australia and Canada, and 28th October for other countries such as Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and more
  • Faster capable data at 14.4Mbps
  • New Camera which is 8mp and records 1080p video which is CMOS back lit.  The Camera is supposedly a lot better

And that is pretty much all. The highlights? Nothing much. It has a better camera, that is about all. Sure it is faster and quicker, and have better graphics, but its a new device, its hardly going to be the same or slower as its predecessor is it?!

Siri is a complete novelty from what I can see. Basically its voice recognition, and you can use it to do tasks with your phone, basically instead of pressing buttons. It is complete novelty, just like voice dialing, does anyone actually use it? I can’t see me using that at all….I can imagine it being a complete gimmick used by middle aged men to show their non-geeky middle aged men friends what they can do “aup lad ‘ave you seen what I do, I can talk to my phone“.

So the iPhone 4S is a great phone, but not if you already have an iPhone 4. There is not enough improvement, no new design, no bigger screen, it doesn’t offer anything significant.

Come to think of it the people who come up with these ideas must not like actual interaction; There is a new “find your friends” thing, you can talk to you phone….Why not just call your friends and ask them where they are, and talk to them instead of your new iPhone 4S?

So having said all that I doubt I will get one, and I will wait for the iPhone 5 like I am sure most others who already have an iPhone 4 will.

My iPhone 4…Or is it a 4S? hmmm ;)
