Word Clock – These Look Amazing

Posted by Michael on Friday 11th May, 2012

A clock is essential, I hate to not know the time, I have my alarm clock which I can see most of the time, and I have my watches and the clock on my phone etc. There are some amazing things being made called a Word Clock.

The word clock from Doug’s Word Clock look brilliant. If you need a clock for your home or office and want something different, something fashionable or artistic then this is it. It will be a focal point and talking point whenever someone sees it, I think they are really cool, what do you think?

A really great idea, and they look very chic. I would love one of these!

They are, however, not the cheapest clock you can buy. Around $300 which is a little under £200, add on the shipping and the probable taxes you will have to pay which could take the price up even more.

Check out Dougs Word Clock here You can get them shipped pretty fast from Australia, only 3-5 working days from UPS. So if you have the money, then this is a cool thing for your wall.

Hey blog!

Yesterday I watched the Europa League final, it was a sad night, Bilbao lost 3-0 against Atletico Madrid, the players were distraught, Muniain in tears after the third goal even though the game was not over, then the players crying after the game. It was sad, the team will probably be broken up, and the players sold on. I have to say Bilbao did not play well, lots of players were just not good enough on the night, they have not been in the best of form in the 2nd half of the season, Champions League looked possible a few months ago, and is all faded away with their bad form.

Today I got my new camera which I blogged about before, it’s amazing! :D the quality is just that much better than any compact, so crisp and sharp.

I got my weekly supply of Red Bull…

There is nothing in the Ciroc bottle, I will throw it out, but I love vodka bottles so it is hard to throw them away :D

Finally Got My DSLR! Canon EOS 600D

Posted by Michael on Thursday 10th May, 2012

I finally bit the bullet and bought a DSLR camera, and I got a Canon EOS 600D. I have literally just got it, so I am charging it, and will shoot some pics with it today, I am excited :D

Here are a few unboxing pics, every geeky person does this when they get something new

So cool! :D You get all the usual stuff, power cable, USB cable, AV cable, battery, strap etc.

I got the EFS 18-55mm lens kit with it, probably the best starter kit for now, if I get into taking lots of pics and I need better lenses then I can always buy more…It is an expensive hobby judging by the price of lenses LOL :D

The camera has pretty much everything you could want, 18MP sensor, 1080p video, lots of functions and modes, swivel screen and so on. It should last me a long time, there is nothing really I could upgrade to for my level of photography :P It seems very well built and is heavy in comparison to a compact, I think it weighs in at around 600g, but the grips it has and design itself help it a lot.

It was around £600, but Canon are doing £50 cash back on this model, I will have to send the form away and get my £50…I bought a Lumix as a present and nobody bothered to get the cash back offer they were doing a while back :P

Pics taken with my Sony HX5V, quite ironic taking a photo of a camera don’t you think? :P

So this will be my “pro” camera, which I will use on my blog for most the shots I do. When I go out (on a night out for example) I will have my Sony which is still a good camera and does fit in my pocket (at a push for certain jeans), and for lo-fi pics I have my iPhone which I basically carry everywhere :)

Hey blog!

Sorry for the lack of blogging, I have had not much to write about lately, I cannot find great motivation for writing fashion realated things, I have written about so many already! :P

Tonight I am watching the Europa League Final, on Europe day too! It is an all Spanish game, Athletic Bilbao vs Atleticó Madrid. I hope Bilbao win, I really like that team.

I have not posted any music for a while…What do you think of the Rita Ora featuring Tinie Tempah – RIP track? I really love it, a great song, good vocal and Tinie’s rapping is good as always.

YouTube Preview Image

I love this song at the moment!

Tuesday 8th May 2012

Hello blog!

Happy Monday Tuesday :) It feels like a Monday since it is back to work time, and I have done a little bit of work today :P I have actually been pondering (again) over which camera I want to get. It is the old argument over getting a DSLR or a compact, and to tell the truth, I want both :D

I have my Sony HX5V which I did like and still do, but the more I use it the more I want a better camera :D There is the Canon S100 which would easily replace it, it is better and more pocket able so that is perfect. I want a DSLR for the ultimate in quality images, and I can get a Canon 600D. Both cameras would be perfect, but it would cost near £1000 for both! :O  I have to pay up or decide which (if any) I want. Also throw into the mix this is technology we’re talking about, so another “latest” camera is always just round the corner.

Today’s fashion:

  • All Saints Shirt
  • FCUK T Shirt
  • Nudie Jeans
  • D&G Watch
  • Converse Trainers

If I want my camera by tomorrow I have a few hours to order it online, or I could go down to the store, which I actually may do, if it is another sunny day like it was today :D

Renault Twizy – The Future?

Posted by Michael on Sunday 6th May, 2012

I was driving on Friday and I saw something which I had not seen before, it’s a car called the Renault Twizy

It is one of Renault’s new electric car, and I think it looks quite funky! :D I sort of like the idea, but I am not a fan of electric cars.

What’s good about it? The size for one. It is small and is a car, I can imagine jumping in it and driving short journeys, to a friend or families or whatever. It doesn’t even look like a car, more like a golf cart and will handle really well. The cost to fill it up with electricity is only £1, so cheap to run.

But the bad…It is still an electric car, and comes with all the electric car problems. Actually it is not a car, it is a quadricycle which means you can’t get the government money back on it. The range of the fuel tank is said to be around 62 miles, but in the real world you can half that. It takes around 3.5 hours to charge which is actually not so bad in comparison to others, but it is still 3.5 hours of waiting.

The top speed is only 50mph so you cannot really go to far. I saw one of these on a dual carriageway and I breezed past it in my little Ford Fiesta. The Twizy did not look slow, and is not, as long as you keep away from motorways.

The price is not too great, the basic model costs around £6600 and you have to lease the battery which can cost around £50/month, and is supposedly insurance group 10-11 which is ridiculously high, a Fiesta is around a 4.

So it has too many of the problems which all the electric cars have, so I would not get one. It would need to be cheaper, and if I had spare money and I wanted a laugh I might buy it.

I think it’s only appeal is because it is like a boys toy. If I were 12 years old and could not drive a real car this would be amazing. But I am not 12, and I can drive a proper car, so it is not.

Is this what the future looks like?

Too Early For A Sunday!

Posted by Michael on Sunday 6th May, 2012

Hey blog!

I woke up way to early for a Sunday, but I usually do! Around 8:30 :(

Last night I did not go out, I had what I thought would be a cold on Friday, and it has got worse just like I knew it would! :( Last night I stayed home and had a couple of drinks.

I mixed up my vodka, I had one Crystal head vodka and a few of my Belvedere, and some Absolut vanilla too :P

I watched the FA Cup final, Chelsea won which I thought they would, but I wanted Liverpool to win. The game had another moment of “did the ball cross the line” and it would of made it 2-2, but the referee did not give it, I did not think it crossed the line.

Today it is the football, Newcastle vs Man City, Arsenal only drew yesterday so Newcastle could go ahead of them! :O We will see….

May The Fourth Be With You 2012

Posted by Michael on Friday 4th May, 2012

Yes it is my favourite joke day of the year, May the fourth be with you! :D It is also Friday, and it is also Bank Holiday on Monday, so no work until Tuesday!!!

But I can “feel” I have a sore throat, cough and cold coming on, which is not good. It means it will get worse over the weekend which is not good, why do I get sick over the weekend?! :(

Today’s fashion:

  • Jaeger Shirt
  • H&M Knit
  • D&G Watch
  • Monkee Genes Jeans
  • Converse Trainers

Today the votes were in for the local elections, and Labour has gained massively, no shock there. Newcastle were voting to decide if they wanted to elect a mayor, and the votes have come in for that…People have voted “no” on that. I voted yes.

This weekend is yet more football, the season is almost over so it’s getting very important and tense. Newcastle play Man City on Sunday, and before that it is the F.A. Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool tomorrow.

Spain 2012 Training T-Shirt

Posted by Michael on Thursday 3rd May, 2012

So last night I got the Spain 2012 training t-shirt, which you could easily mistake for a proper replica football shirt, and here it is:

I like it. It uses the Adidas “Formotion” style of shirt, which is the same as the players issued shirts, replica shirts are the “Climacool” versions.

The back of the shirt and some close ups. The back has the Spain flag printed on it. The Adidas logo on the front is also a print rather than embroiderred.

I may print on this shirt, and make it really custom. I may print my own name and number, 84 of course onto the shirt. I have created this mock up design to see if I like it or not. I am not sure how to write my name, should I go for a full name, initial and last name, or just last name? I prefer the full name.

I could also go for something like “Campeones” or go for a player who is not a huge star yet such as Muniain or one of the other young players.

I think it will look pretty good, and will certainly be unique :D

Wednesday 2nd May 2012

Posted by Michael on Wednesday 2nd May, 2012

Hello blog!

Wow what a day it has been! The usual work to start off the day which was fine, I wish the weather was better though, you would not think it was May!

I got the Spain training shirt, which looks like a football shirt, I will blog about that tomorrow. I am shattered, I have just done another hour on the exercise bike, 30km, and 30km yesterday, so 60km in 2 days :O

Today’s fashion:

  • All Saints Shirt
  • Balenciaga Jeans
  • Marc Ecko Watch
  • Converse Trainers

I had not worn this shirt for a long time, so decided to wear it today.

Newcastle played Chelsea tonight…And won!! 2-0 :D Newcastle are joint 4th with Tottenham with 2 games left, and 1 point behind Arsenal. The problem is Arsenal and Tottenham have easier games, so Newcastle are the outsiders to get 4th or even 3rd. If one of the London clubs slip up Newcastle would still almost probably need to win both their last games against Man City and Everton.

Now I shall read some blogs and chill, I feel so tired, I think I will sleep good tonight! ;)
